Default Lock/Unlock Chirps

I have a 97 es300 and all of the sudden when I push the lock and unlock button on the remote, it no longer makes any noise. I must have somehow disabled it. Does anyone know hot to configure it back. My car doesn't have that volume control **** under the steering wheel columm like the owners manuals says.

Thanks

Good question, one I have asked before with no answer.

I got a 2001, I changed the battery on my key and lost the chrip. The little **** does no good.

Any ideas for this problem ?

I have 98 and it says under the streering column, but it is acutally under the dash. I posted 2 pics I could not find mine either at first. Its directly below the traction control on off button. Hope this helps. Maybe the botton fell off you could still turn it with a screw driver.

I was wondering if the earlier models had the chirp as well? Mine never made any noise, you just have to listen for the locks to switch. Is there an adjustment I can do for it as well on a 93?

Yes, the '92-'96 models have the beep feature for lock/unlock. The volume adjuster for the beep should be located in the same panel where the side mirror controls are.

I looked where you said on mine and all I have there are the mirror controls and an on off switch for the remote system. There is no adjuster for the alarm volume. Is there another place it could be?

OK, try looking under the steering wheel column as shown in the pic a few posts above.

I looked at both locations and mine has no adjustment that I can see. There is nothing by the mirror adjuster and nothing below the steering wheel as pictured. Mine is a 93. If anyone has a picture of where it is on the earlier models please attach it. thanks.
