Default Doors unlock

Hi everyone,
Would like all doors to stay locked when shift to P. Followed instruction on manual but it didn't work. What did I do wrong?

Manual says to close all doors, turn key to "on", shift to "P", then hold the door lock on lock position for 5 seconds. Tried many times but it did not work.

I had this problem until someone explained that the twit who set up the programming wanted 5 seconds and only 5 seconds. Holding the button down longer fails the process.

Yes, it's absolutely ridiculous, but at least it's one of the few things you can do without the dealer...

The 5 seconds is very important. I had to start the car, shift to neutral, then turn engine off (key to aux).

Then I quickly turned key to ON postion, while very quickly shifting to park. Then I VERY quickly pushed the LOCK button down for exactly 5 seconds (the 5 beeps at the start are exactly 5 seconds). Finally it worked!

I wanted mine to NOT LOCK, while the OP wanted them TO LOCK when shifting from Park. Glad I finally figured it out.

The other thing you can do is count the flashes of the : on the clock in the dash. Each flash of : is one second.

And yes, it's very picky about being exactly five seconds.
