Default Took the F to the Dragstrip for New Years Eve

Car was a blast... went a best of 12.58 @ 113+... Hot lapping it. Car really was amazing... would go 12.62, and I'd pull right back up (about 30 Seconds after finishing... and went 12.58!

Best 60' I could get was 2.005.

I had went 2 weeks ago, when it was 70' out... and I got a 1.955 It was 46 Degrees during my best run, and a Density altitude of 906 Feet (which is good in AZ!).

I also played with the 'Vacuum-Mod' to confirm that it HURTS the car... and that is a DEFINITE YES! Car loses bottom end... very obvious at the track. Leave the 2 stage intake hooked up.

Had we had good grip, AND cooled the car... probably a 12.4 @ 114.

Mods are Borla Catback & Drop In Air Filter.

Happy New Year!

That's a great time, very impressive. Love how this car has consistently beat the factory claims for it, and in Arizona to boot.

Yeah, Reciprocal... typically we find AZ .2 and 2mph slower than 'sea level' states... so I was happy... and honestly... I was most impressed with the way it didn't mind 'hot lapping' it... Such a great car!

I drove my friends CTS-V,same day with Pulley, Headers, Intake, Tune & Exhaust... and went 12.2 @ 117... so considering... the F does everything SOO well.. gets 22MPG to boot (he told me he gets 12!)

Peace,
Dave

I wanted to take it out to beat my times but work got too busy and I didn't feel like waking up early to go before work. The DA was down to -400!

Which track did you go to? I usually go to speedworld and track prep is crappy sometimes. Also what tires are you using? Do you have the charcoal filter removed or do you still have it in?

As for hot lapping I notice the same, I've done 5-6 runs back to back and had consistent times. I'll have to go plug that connector back in I keep forgetting.

Yup, went to Speedworld! I have the charcoal filter removed. Track prep was ok... but it was so cold it didn't matter... spinning through first gear was standard.

What is your best time there? Let me know next time you want to go... we brought an '08 Z-06 (My Dads) an '09 CTS-V, '08 350Z, '11 Performance Pkg V6 Mustang, a couple 335i's running methanol... fun fun.

My best time so far was 12.6@112 with a 2.01 60' DA of 1232 in full street trim with spare and tools. + the flap mod was done but I've went and plugged it back in now. I really need to try and get some DR's but I have tickets to take care of first lol.

Let me know next time you will be out there and I'll try to get the day off work.

Traction was the big issue I usually go on beat the heat night and track prep usually sucks I just peel out like silly but with my work schedule the way it is I don't have a choice. James got 11.9 with similar mods on DR's (he still has the stock intake) but he is over on the east coast and has way better DA's. If I can get a good launch I have no doubt the car can do it. I also had the secondary intake flap open which apparently hurts it so I've since fixed it.

-400 you should have gone! I ran my 11.9@120.58 with a -405 DA and last year without the headers on a -451 DA I ran a 12.20@117.49.

I've also found that hot lapping will yield consistent results, but to get the best results you need to let the car cool down for about 30 minutes between runs. Keep the engine hood open and as soon as they call your class for runs make sure you are one of the first to line up so that the engine hasn't had enough time to get too hot again. You won't be let down.

BTW do you by chance plan to hit the nations capitol on your cross country trip? If so stop by for a visit!
