Default Check engine light question is this normal?

when the power button is yellow/orange is it normal for the check engine light and the oil light every other light to go on? I noticed when the car is fully turned on with the power button being green, the check engine and the other lights doesn't goes away..

This is the way I believe it works:

If you press the Start button once, you go into ACCESSORY mode. In this mode, the Start button will be yellow/orange as you said, and you can really only use the radio. No warning lights should be on.

If you press it again, you go into ON mode, where the car is essentially on, but the engine is OFF. In this mode, the Start button remains yellow/orange, and the warning lights come on and stay on (feature lights come on as a test then turn off if your feature is currently off). You can do anything you normally can except drive the car.

If you press it again, you turn off the car.

If at any point you press and hold the brake pedal, the Start button light goes green, indicating that if you press it now, the car will turn on completely (regardless of which mode you're in), engine and all. Start button light turns off when the car is running.

The only time your warning lights should be on is when you are in ON mode, which means your Start button is yellow/orange (because you're not holding the brake pedal down) and your READY light at the bottom of the speedometer is off (which is only on when the car is running).

Essentially, the Start button green light is ONLY ON when:

1. The car is off, in ACCESSORY mode, or ON mode, and the brake pedal is being held down in any of those modes
or
2. You just hit the Start button with the brake pedal depressed then let go, and the green light is on while car starts, then it turns off a moment later.

So yes, your car is fine because you're in ON mode and the warning lights are supposed to stay on, but the only reason you see the green light is that you're on the brake. Try it next time and see.

Thanks man. yeah. I didn't fully step on the pedal prior to pressing the power button. i read the Manuel it says that the car does as a system check when the orange light is on. When i saw all the check engine lights/ oil light. i freaked out. thanks for the 2nd input i have 3 more days to return the car.
