Toyota will definitely want to analyze that part to determine how it failed. Looks like it sheared. What were you doing the moment the part failed? Were you stationary with the wheels wedged up against something?
I was driving, the last part ot the shaft steering column that connects the steering wheel to the steering gear broke in 2 pieces, I didn't have steering and the steering wheel rotates by itself to the right when the car is on, the VSC/traction control light is also on. This caused more damage and broke the spiral cable. I replaced both pieces of the steering shaft and the spiral cable, but the VSC/traction control light is still on and when I turn to the right the steering wheel is very easy but when I turn to the left it's much harder, you know what can be the issue? Thank you very much!
