Hello CT fans.
It's been five months since I bought this great car and I realy love it. The only thing that bothered me was the high fuel consumption 7L/100km (33.6mpg). The car has 144000km and it is a 2011 model. So after reading a lot od posts about the EGR in this car, I decided to clean everything between exhaust to intake. It was terrible inside, like in a carbon factory. Only thing i used were a new gaskets and two cans of Valvoline EGR Cleaner + brush. The effect was amazing after cleaning. ICE is running much smoother (no more vibrations) and the consumption is Now 4,3L/100km (54.7mpg) in the city. Wow Pipe before cleaning Pipe after EGR+cooler My CT EGR on cooler side before Cooler before Cooler cloged EGR cooler side after cleaning EGR inlet side after cleaning Cooler cleaned
2013 Ct200h 236k miles. Started running rough at slow speed after getting off on a 4 hr highway trip. Drove it another 4hrs home. Cleaned egr and tube. Still ran rough at start up and after it warmed up. Ended up having the engine replaced with a JDM imported engine with 50k on it. $1,680 out the door installed.
