Default Intake mani problem

Okay so I'm helping a friend out. We did a tune up on his car and we've encountered a problem. So the manifol is lining up with the egr valve correctly but then there's this big gap with the y pipe and the rest of the manifold. When we were taking it out we did force it a bit but I don't think enough to have moved the big nut holding the egr valve. I'll post a pic for reference. Any help is appriciated

Okay so I think we might have fu&k&d up. The piece you see there Im not sure the name. I just know the egr valve is in that area. We're not sure if we moved it down while we're removing the intake mani.

So I'm doing some research and Im noticing that everyone removes this egr pipe. I'm guessing this is where I went wrong. Right?

moved to maintenance. On the EGR metal pipe is a very large nut, its actually 2 pieces of metal pipe and one is screwed into the other one. when removing it you must have bumped it when placing on the ground or something and the angles change. just loosen up that nut and it will be able to turn some and then it will fit right.
