Default Prius compared to 2012CT

I currently have a 10 Prius 4, I really like it HOWEVER I do not like the seats. They have little support . Ive been in a CT and it seems a lot smaller inside, but the seats seem better . Im just looking for a few opinions from any one who has driven both and any good or bad info. I currently have a HS and RXh

Thanks ,

Chris

Wow, between the HS and RXh, I don't see why you would want/need a CT.
I too was originally set on getting the highest trim Prius, but after looking at both in person, the CT won mainly because of interior fit and finish (which is an irony since most folks here seem to think that is what is lacking vs other Lexus models).

I would have to say that the CT IS lacking in interior fit and finish compared to other Lexus models...but is still miles ahead of most other cars...Prius included. I suggest driving the CT and make a decision...CT handles better and is more responsive in my opinion.

I own a 2013 CT, and my Father-in-law owns a 2011 Prius. The seats are 100% better on the Lexus, and long driving in the CT no longer kills my back compared to the Prius. They both have the same engine and transmission, but the Prius does get around 8 MPG more due to lower weight, and better aerodynamics. The Lexus and Prius have similar nav systems, but the Lexus is a little bit better due to the mouse that can be used during driving as well as better fit and finish. The Prius has MUCH MORE rear storage space, so don't get a CT if you use all of yours in your Prius. Finally, not only does the Lexus look better IMO, but it has independent rear suspension which makes the CT handle much better in corners, and ride better over bumps.

Thanks for the help and info. i use the car mostly on the highway . the Prius has 101k and i put around 35- 40 k a YEAR . I was looking a better seats for the longer drives. Something i drive 6 hours and other times 2-4 hours about 3-5 times a week . I really like the Prius it just hurts the my back on long trips. It would mostly be a highway car and to run a child or two around a small town. We take thew HS or RXh out of town when needed. My wife has the HS and my middle child has the RX and the old man got the Prius . the one im looking at is 2012 with 9500 mile with navi red exterior for 29k but i wont pay that price. its at a Chevy dealer and they want it gone . i just didn't want to make a 13 k mess up .

Someone's a Hybrid aficionado

CT while similar to the Prius and sharing a powertrain is heavier in part to more tech, safety and luxury content than the Prius which is why the Prius will get better mileage. Another trade though is the CT will handle far better (lower, wider) than the Prius. Better seats and chunkier steering wheel too

Thumbs up Do it!

Go for it Chris!

You will NOT regret it, especially if your goal is to find super comfortable seats that will not hurt your back after many miles/hours in the seat. My CT is the only vehicle I've ever owned, including my other two Lexi, that allows me to take a road trip with no lower back pain. The CT is now my out-of-town, road trip weapon of choice. FWIW, I just got 55 mpg on the 175 mile trek from Tupelo to Jackson on the Natchez Trace Parkway.

Default thanks again

I might find out tomorrow what going to happen, I sent pictures and VIN and what I what I need to make it happen . If it doesn't work on this one there seem to be others other there so im not in a major hurry other than the lack of support in the Prius seats .

I currently have a 2011 CT with over 76K miles and I enjoy it very much. The seats are very comfortable for long trips. I've driven my CT to San Diego, San Francisco, Las Vegas and to four corners (where AZ, NM, CO & UT meet). The CT is smaller inside compared to the Prius but you have the HSh and RXh if you need more space.

Prior to my CT 200h, I had a 1996 ES 300 with over 400K miles which got rear-ended and was totaled. When I was car shopping I considered an HS 250h, CT 200h and an IS F. I decided to go with the CT because it was completely new, a hatchback with four doors and it got great mpg's. So far I'm still very happy with my CT...
