I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea how the CT does in the snow. I'm considering the possibility of replacing my IS with a CT 200h, but I'm a little concerned.

Thank you! This was a great thread. I may have to give this some serious thought. I gave up a MINI a couple of years ago, because I didn't want to have to keep a winter car anymore (well that and I really like the IS350!). I can't see going back to the same situation. Even for 40 MPG.

I really did do a search or 3 before posting! I looked for CT200h winter. Should have tried CT200h snow!

 

I am using Blizzak WS 60's on mine (mounted on the OE 17" wheels) and they work great. no issues navigating around on snow or icey roads.
The standard low rolling resistance all seasons that come with the car can be driven on but will have difficulty on slippery inclines or if in deep snow.

Do you run those year round?

 

i keep the stock all-seasons all year round, and has been okay in light snow conditions. drives like a typical FWD car. the over-sensitive brakes will be to your advantage in the winter since it will make the car stop a bit sooner. just drive carefully and dont drive in sports mode. i drive in normal mode though some people say ECO mode is best for winter driving

that being said, if the CT doesnt have winter tires, i wouldn't drive it if there is a big snowfall on the road with deep snow. the CT will likely get stuck in it or lose control/slip just like any FWD car. i have another AWD sports sedan with winter tires for those occasions

 

Sorry! ... i didn't see your question earlier. No, I run with the winter tires between November and April and the O.E. all seasons for the balance of the year.

 

With softer suspension and higher ground clearance CT would be very good in winter conditions. Hybrid system works well with slippery surfaces and uses all the available traction. I tested the car with Nokian R2 winter tyres.
