Default Heater Core Replacement Guide?

Recently bought a 2015 CT200h F-sport in May and have never had to use the heater- as it’s gotten colder, I’ve wanted to use the heat and get nothing but cold air from the vents, even on HI heat and in sport mode. Disassembled a few things from under the driver’s side dash only to find it’s too tight of a space to get everything disassembled WITHOUT taking out the dash. Does any have guide or step-by-step procedure to take out the dash to replace the heater core? Took it to my local dealer and they quoted me over a grand to replace a $50 part, so DIY it is (I’m a broke college kid). Any help is appreciated!!

Can you confirm that the coolant is actually warming up? Since this car doesn't have a temperature gauge, I use an OBD2 reader on mine to display the water temperature at all times. It might be that the coolant isn't warming up, which could mean a stuck open thermostat. Otherwise, I have no clue about the heater core sorry.

Yeah agreed with the comment above. Could also be an issue with the temperature blend door, or the control going to it. You're gonna want to diagnose this one properly before arming the cash cannon.
