I believe I just got a fake 20 at the ATM
Well like the title states I believe I got a fake one from the ATM. I took out a good amount to go make a store payment (GAP, Sears, Macy's) type of card. I told the lady I would like to make a payment of this. She punched it in and started checking the money under the black light. I guess they are suppose to change colors. All of them were good except 1. I know I didn't have any other money on me because I hate to carry cash.
The weird part about it is that it has the water marks, has the little strip and the paper feels like any other 20 did. I am over here scratching my head trying to figure out if it's fake or not. I called Chase because that's where I took out the money and they put me on hold a couple times and finally came back and told me I have to take it in to get it tested. The only other thing that came to mind is that it's a rare mess up from the printing press.

Although it might have the strip and watermark, it might NOT be the right one. There has been a lot of 5 dollar bills being bleached and then reprinted as 20's. You really have to look out for those counterfeits.
Phil is right, a store owner is suppose to check the bill and if its fake they're suppose to call the cops and try to hold the person who brought it in until the cops come in....
To check if the bill is a authentic 20.00 bill, you can feel the dude's suit because it has a rough texture, look at the water strip( twenty should spelled out, and every other one will be backwards). Then check for the normal watermark head

The bank has no way of verifying that the OP got it from the ATM.
I also think its unlikely that you got it from the ATM (if it really is a fake) most ATM money comes directly from Downtown Vault
