Default RANT: Bredemann Lexus, Glenview

Hey guys, has anyone had any experience with bredemann lexus in glenview? I wasn't very pleased with the service dept. I guess next time when I go there (if ever again), I need to be wearing a suit and not just jeans to get some decent service. sigh...i wish i looked a *little* older. I'll be 26 this year but I look like I'm 21...at work, my patients have a hard time believing my recommendations cuz i look too young to know! lol

I just emailed this to their customer service dept:

To whom this may concern:
I purchased an 06 RX400h from Steve Spritz on December 31, 2008. Steve has always been friendly, approachable, and positive with his correspondence.

However, my experience with the service department has been unsatisfactory. I just brought in the RX400h for its first complimentary service and the 9LC campaign today, and the ladies I dealt with were nothing short of unfriendly and abrasize. It was almost as if they did not want to be there. I spoke to Pat over the phone to make my appointment, and I dealt with Amy directly while I was there. There was no greeting, no "How can I help you?", no "Thank you for your time", not even a courteous smile or acknowledgement in person.

There were some misunderstandings - for example, with Pat, I needed a loaner but did not know that they were not allowed over the weekend. Instead Pat remarked, "Well do you want to drop off your vehicle on Saturday at 7AM and be back by 3PM? I doubt there's even any open appointments left." With Amy, I did not know that the complimentary service did not mean the 45k service interval. She did not explain anything at all and just tried to have me sign a work order for $280. When I asked the difference between the complimentary service coupon and the 45k service, she said, "The coupon is just an oil change. Read the packet, it's in the packet you're holding." I read it and the coupon covered everything in the packet except for a tire rotation. I showed this to her and all she said was "There's a difference." I finally just told her to print out a copy of a 45k service workorder. It was very frustrating.

I am a pharmacist and I interact with over 100 patients a day, and I can understand that sometimes people can be irritating. However, as a professional, I keep my frustrations in check and do not take it out on the next person in line. I did not walk into the department with a bad attitude. I walked through the door and waited several minutes. There were no other customers in front of me. Some empoyees looked at me, but no one asked if I needed help, so I approached Amy. Turned out to be more than I bargained for. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

I bought my F from Bredemann over a year ago. The sales team was OK at best and became quite irritating here and there. There is really only one person there that I have come to trust and who I deal with for anything involving my car. His name is Josh and his technical job title is accessories specialist. I dealt with him for my clear bra and K40 install. But he does everything I need and I trust him so it's win/win. I have had a few bad run ins with some of there other employees.

For example: I made an appointment to have my radar serviced. Showed up and they told me there was no appointment and then proceeded to look at me like I had a third eye and talked to me like it was my fault. Nothing huge, just a nice 45 mile round trip for nothing after a long day of work. I guess that could happen anywhere though.

Sorry to hear, but every dealer is going to have their good and bad days. Don't let it ruin things for you. Take care

I work for bredemann toyota and visit lexus on a daily basis. I dont know anyone in service personally, but the parts guys are real cool car guys. Every dealer has its bad day I guess, but I know if you complain and return that survey they send out the owners see and read them.

I dealt with the sales department there a couple of years ago and had a pretty unpleasant experiance... the sales guy pretty much told me that I've just wasted his time.

I dealt with the service department a couple of months ago and although their people skills were not great they performed all the service campaigns that were needed and gave me a full tank of gas.

Given a choice though, I would not go back there.

Wow man that sounds horrible. The service folks at Lexus of Rockford pretty much goes over everything before taking my keys, and they go over it again when I pay. They always gives me the preference of which car I want for the day, which is really nice (no ISF though).

I started avoiding woodfield a few years ago when..2 of my new cds were stolen from my car while i waited for an oil change. After i got my car back pressed play on my CD player in my ES300 and it said "no disk". I thought that maybe the disk wasnt reading right ( I had just bought the CD before comming to the dealership..and it was playing fine then) when i checked the disk tray the tray was missing two disks. And of course my new CD was gone. I turned around and went back the service department and complained and I was asked "Are you sure the disk was in there" and "have you looked to see if just fell in the car". At the end the service rep said "sorry but I dont know what to tell you our service tech didnt open your trunk and the person who washed you car said he hadnt seen it.

So I walked out pissed and have not gone back to them for service since.
I usually go to Lexus of westmont.

I had some bad experiences with Bredemann Lexus in the past. I recently started taking my old RX300 to get serviced there because of convenience. The service was okay. This is a major reason to avoid taking my car there:

That thread is from a while ago, but I have noticed that A LOT of cars with Bredemman Lexus license plate holders and these UGLY park sensors.

Even though I live in Glenview, I travel to Woodfield Lexus for service. They have been great so far (knock on wood).

I go to McGrath but I am biased since I am friends with the owners. I think every dealer has its strengths and weaknesses. I can say when I had the Audi if I was working and in a Suit I was treated 100% different then if I walked in in shorts or jeans. I was in that dealer 4 times looking at an RS4 when it first came out and only once did I have anyone approach me and it was the GM. If I had not been dressed up he wouldn't have ever talked to me.

Woodfield has some positive feedback on here and they have done great things for us Sad to see that James is not with them anymore but we all move forward in life to bigger and better things. I am sure he is doing just fine

As someone posted those surveys are HUGE for any dealer.

Interesting to hear everyone's stories! My parents bought an RX from Mcgrath new in 02 and they have never complained about the service there. Maybe that's where i'll look to buy a pre-owned LS600hl in 2 years.

Has anyone had experience with lexus of orland?

Dave,

We were all wondering where you have been. We hoped you would have made the Schaumburg meet yesterday.
