Default tire plugs?

I got a flat tire today, sealed it (temporarily I believe) with that "green slime" stuff I got at autozone, I haven't checked it yet as it's only been about 1 hour, I guess tomorrow I will know if it works or not. I know it's only a temp fix since that is what everyone tells me.
If I get this tire plugged it should hold up the road and stuff right [those gooey brown/black tar-gum looking thingies]? The puncture is right in the groove in the center of my tire tread, not in the sidewall.

I do not want to replace a brand new tire.

I've always had good luck with the black tar type of plug, just make sure you use plenty of adhesive

I'll stop by. I don't want them banging up my rims from mounting and dismounting the tire.

You sprayed the green stuff into the tire already? If it's one of those fix-a-flat cans that you spray in the valve stem, then you would've messed up the tire already for further usage.

Otherwise, I'd say do a plug. They usually don't have to remove the tire from the wheel to plug the hole. Heck, you can even do it yourself if you must, I know tire and wheel shops that just use plugs from AutoZone and such and plug it. I've got a plug in one of my all-season wheels and it's lasted two years without leaking.

Already got it patched today at DiscountTire.
THEY ****ED UP MY ****ING RIM WTF.
and it's NOT free. it's only free if the rim is 17 inches or smaller.
Wasn't bad though, it was 20 bucks flat.

THE IDIOTS at DiscountTire were supposed to fix the flat that was on my driver side REAR tire. but for some UNKNOWN reason, they took off my driver side FRONT, and I was like WTF?! so they put it back on and THAT is the rim they messed up!!! WTF!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!
FRUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
