Default Installed intake and question?

I tryed searcing first but i couldnt find anything, I installed my weapon r intake yesterday and the first thing i noticed is when i started the car it ran like crap. So i figured thats the ecu adjusting. I took it for a 5 min drive it got alot better. Then i took it for a hour drive but the tranny shifts a little different in auto vs manual and when you punch it it kind of falls on its face from around 3000 to 4000 rpm. So does it take a while for the pcm to learn or did i not do something right,
Thanks in advance.

I told you Brian, the GS and the IS300 do not do well with intakes. Even the TRD I had made the tranny shift bad. These intakes burn out the Mass Airflow Sensors (cost at least $300), remove it.

give it a few days to learn and see how it is. if it doesnt take and self learn you will have to put a A/F piggyback to make it work. reason I took out mine.

I would only wait for a little while, you don't want to ruin your MAF sensor, those little things are quite $$$

I went a week on the SRT with out the ECU and had no issues with the MAF Sensor. I just got tired of the VSC/CEL going off every 5 minutes of it being reset. If you are not throwing a CEL then you are fine The car will learn in a day or two. It took a few hours for my GS to run smooth with the SRT and then it was a bat out of hell I had more hesitation in the lower rpms and then it was fine. Your intake is the same size as the OEM pipe right??

if anyone local is interested in the SRT for a 2gen or 3gen GS430 hit me up. I am going a different direction with this car now but it will be some time before I can do it.

I just let the car warm up for 10 min and no prob like i had before, i just wanted to see if in fact it was the ecu and how long it took to reprogram.
Thanks again.

Yes the pipe is the same as oem i had the hesitation at lower rpm and then it ran like a bat out of hell too.

^ you are sucking more air then the OEM pipe then...or I assume that since mine did the same thing. I dont see any issue if you dont throw and CEL or anything. Plus its pretty cold out also so you have many factors right now.

Look up the DYI I did in the GS 2G forum. I think I still have one of the Tubes laying around.

Noticeable difference 3k and beyond pull, sound is great. No CEL, Runs perfect and doesnt look like Ricer BS.
