Oh yeah, Tesla's price cuts are definitely having an effect. An email from my local Hyundai dealership, who are not only advertising 100 percent online shopping, but on top of no mark-ups, are offering factory discounts:

BTW, they are not only heavily discounting their EV line, but ICE line as well!

EVs will continue to be discounted.
While Tesla has healthy margins, the ICE automakers are losing huge $$$ on every EV they sell.

Lucid can’t sell their inventory and the used ones with only couple thousand miles are going for almost 50% off on used market. Dealers don’t want them as trade.

BMW can’t move iX or i4. I’m sure i7 will be even worse.

Crazy, huh? I didn't think the Tesla cuts were going to work this fast, or have this much of an effect. Just one month ago, this same dealership was only willing to sell certain lower trims at MSRP. Last year they told my brother in law to take it or leave it when he tried to negotiate down a $6k ADM!

Another funny incident, today I was coming home from work, and I was surrounded by 6 white Model Y's and one white Model 3... with temporary plates. I wanted to take a picture, but it would have looked odd. Now we know who's winning the war

Mary Barra - CEO of GM is the absolute worst CEO of any major company. How she still has a job is beyond me. GM is just a poorly managed company that will only survive because the US government will continue to fund it.

Since this inept person has been CEO, GM has failed with all product lines and especially EVs. The Volt and Bolt cost GM billions in losses. Any other person would have been fired long ago.

Well, that's not all who's losing. Today the local Toyota dealership near my work was empty. Mostly of people, but the lot was pretty barren as well

I remember when they opened reservations for the Hummer in 2021, they claimed they sold out all the spots. I guess most people thought about it and said "nah, it will be alright" LoL 🤣

Hummer EV is the biggest fail of a vehicle maybe ever. Insanely heavy giant battery with poor rage and horrible efficiency. There is no reason for this vehicle to exist except for GM to brag they have an EV.

I was looking at inventory of my local Porsche dealers - not only are there no new 911s or Cayman/Boxsters but there are no used ones either.
All they have are bunch of Macans and some Cayennes. Really not sure what is going on.

The shortage of new cars since 2020 will continue to drive up prices of used cars as there is just smaller pool to choose from.

My X3 M40i order was placed a month ago now and my build slot is mid-May. Either these automakers don’t have enough staff or they just keeping inventory low on purpose. The regular X3 is not an issue though to order - very strange.

Those probably went to “influencers”

GM should have made a normal suv with wide appeal like Mach E. I think Ford did decent job on it - just wish they didn’t use Mustang name.

That's kind of the fault of the automakers who are heavily dependent on third parties for their supply chain. Their 1990's style thinking (as well as corporate red tape) is what caused them to get caught with their pants down. Nobody predicted COVID (or the war in Ukraine), the problem is they didn't adapt fast enough. They need to go back to the drawing board and rethink this. In the meantime, people (some I know) are placing orders for Tesla's. Maybe that will change when automakers get it together, but bad news for them is Tesla has a 65 percent customer retention record

have no doubt tesla price cuts are hammering everyone else.

also, i think the biggest ace in the hole for tesla is the supercharger network. from all accounts, reliable, fast, and in loads of locations.
everything else? totally hit and miss. i think that alone turns a load of potential ev buyers to tesla.
