Crazy pedestrians...
I know we have talked about this before, some people feel drivers are at fault for interactions between pedestrians and cars. The other day one of my agents walked outside her door to see a pedestrian on the street in front of her house who was hit and dragged by a truck which drove off. That day 3 more pedestrians were hit in Montgomery County...before 9AM. Car and pedestrian accidents are becoming a HUGE issue here.
This is an example of what I am talking about when I say pedestrians don't take their own safety seriously when walking around our area. I was in DC this morning, and this woman and her dog, not 3 car lengths from a crosswalk, couldn't be bothered to cross at the walk and instead walked between two stopped cars not realizing that a driver had legally made a right turn onto the street she was crossing. She stepped out, never looked and almost got creamed. The video doesn't do it justice, she was inches away from death and if the driver of the Altima has been the least bit distracted...she would certainly be dead. You can see her and the dog both flinch for the impact. You can hear me audibly gasp. Afterwards the woman just walks along like nothing happened....
As much as drivers need to pay attention for pedestrians, pedestrians have to take some responsibility for their safety too...

No, the light is red and the Rav 4 was just in a line of cars at the light. Pedestrian 100% at fault.
Oh, I know. Crazy.
Yeah, the delivery bikes are a huge problem. I constantly get someone that will go on my right when I'm about to make a right turn. And I'm a driver that will signal a half a block away from the intersection.

The ones that boil my blood are the people looking down at their phones while walking a dog or better, mothers pushing a carriage, looking at their phone while crossing the street. I always tell my wife, I at least pay attention. What if it's distracted taxi driver or a tired delivery truck driver?
I'll agree, however, that cell phones have become the #1 cause of public distraction...whether on foot or behind the wheel.

The drivers are always at fault in the current government pursuit of "safe streets", and cities across the country are narrowing roads and removing lanes and doing everything else to impede traffic flow - and incidents are actually getting worse as they do that. The bike riders are the worst of it, as they obey no traffic laws. The goal is to make it impossible to operate a private vehicle in any city in favor of mass transit, bikes, walking, and soon robotaxis.

Yeah, all of that was vehicle traffic lanes:
One of my offices is in the building to the right of the Chase, driving through there is a nightmare now.
