Default The most important mods

The most important mods you can do to keep your car looking good are mods that do not stand out. These mods are so tastefully blended with the original scheme of the car that the average person would not know you did it by looking at the car (does not include enthusiasts). These mods can be anywhere on the car and be anything as long as they don't stick out.

Now, is that statement true .... or false?

agree with you a lot. a good mod will make people turn their heads, think the car is different, but can't tell exactly what's different

"true" in my book. Believe it or not, I have actually had some non-car types ask me if my 20's came from the factory!!! LOL

your post is very true in my book.
i for one, care about performace over looks.
i think most cars look fine stock.
althought i do like the clean look of a car. like factory OEM performace look.
i dont know how most of the people on here would vote number 1.
i see lots of du-luck body kits (eww..) and modifications that just throws the body lines off the car.
i guess some people just like to be an attention ***** with their car, and stand out.
if i had tons of mods on my car, the last thing i want is attention.. I dont want to risk the chance of my car gettin jacked.

good thread

oh yea, chrome rims is one mod that can make your car stick out.. =S

nothing wrong with honda.. i dont know why lots of you guys make fun of them..
althought some of you guys aint from cali.. i see more all go no sho honda around here then any other cars. I have tons of pictures of clean honda on my site, and many others..

as a whole they bring it on themselves

i have seen very few fast hondas before...
there's a GSR around town that runs low 13s with drag radials... but then he blew his motor lol... thats not very fast to me...
couple turbo Civics running low 14s...

all the others are all show no go cars... i just group the hondas, cavaliers, sunfires, v6 mustangs, trucks, etc all into the same group... 'trying to make up for something they dont have'
typical honda here and every place i've ever been is i/h/e, some kind of wing, cheap rims like rotas or OZ or something... and they still run 16s...

Good Poll,

I think perfectly modded car(visually) should take whats good and make it better, extend the bumper/sideskirt lines, fill the wheelwells, etc. Another member was telling me that I like all the boring stuff (RMM vs Vizage for the GS is one example). But I tried to tell him a modded car should look like a modded AMG or M car, just different enough from the garden variety version to be noticed. I dont think Luxury vehicles should be hideously rearranged (F1 fenders on a M/B for example )

I think Genearch's SC is the perfect way to mod a car: Large quality wheels/Quality coilovers, and tasteful aero additions. And I bet alot of folks would think his car is just PLAIN! I always tell folks I'ma plain type of guy I guess!

These are just my VISUAL views, performance is a horse of another color!

Now, i agree with you guys, to an extent, i dont know if most of you are older, but im 19
and people have different tastes, some people like a car everyone stares at trying to
figure out what it is, and some... like tires that sit out 4" from the body.. (why i dont know)

but its all personal preference, but i think most people with lexus have a pretty
logical sense of style, hondas are just cheap enough to make look like crap if it
suits the person, where as you dont really want to drive around w/ a primered Lexus

i guess its just different in your area.
the more east the states are, the more ricey it is =\
out here in cali, their are more fast daily driving honda then any other state.
plus they're all jdm out, with expansive spoon and mugen crap.
i've seen tons of fast honda 12-13sec all day, all motor. also some built b20/vtec motor taking down a full built nova. these cars are mostly racing on falken tires.. slicks are only used if large cashs is in the game..
the last time i seen a fully rice car around here was probably a week ago..
the scene around here is cleaning up heh.

d3m0n1c: 4 inches from the car's body? WTF? do you mean extended axels? thats so mexican....

O. L. T.: sweet e36

thats why i dont beleave in basic bolt on.. i know some people running 13sec on stock i/h/e.
why do you think i always make fun of people that do basic bolt on crap on this site?

I like tasteful, classy mods, and these many times are mistanken for oem, which to me is a good thing. I like my car to be understated, as much as can be had with 20" wheels. But kits that accentuate the cars lines are the most pleasing to me, as opposed to those that try to change them

Depends on who you are. I prefer subtle modifications to performance, exterior and interior, but I have seen all shapes, sizes and colors of modifications down here.
