Saw one today all shiny and new on the road. I had a good look at it. I don't like it. It looks too sculpted and and angled all over. It looks better in the pictures. Maybe it will grow on me but I remember first seeing the outgoing style and loving it at first sight.

Murph, that's ironic. Saw my first one locally a week or two ago and thought to myself that it looked better in the metal than it has in pix. Still can't deal with those eyebrows, though............

I agree with you with those eyebrows. It's not easy to mod this car to make it look real good, but I think it looks pretty decent in dark colors.

I'm sure that somebody will make color-keyed trim pieces to cover the corner of the headlamps (just like they already have for the 99-01 3-Series to make it look like the 02-04 models). Here is my crude "artist's" rendering of such a mod that I whipped up in Paint.

They're running an ad blitz on TV and in magazines, and I have mixed emotions. It's definitely not as in-your-face ugly as the new 7, but I still think it is less attractive overall than the current (I guess now the OLD) 5. The scowling front end is so mean-looking it's almost comical, while the back does have WRX or even TSX lines.

You know they scrambled back to the drawing boards, so I wonder how bad it would have been before the new 7 was soundly rejected by the marketplace...

I know that the original version (I saw the pics here in the old Lexus Lobby) was to have the red reflective strip running across the trunklid like the 7 Series. People howled after seeing spy shots, claiming it made the back end look like a Pontiac Grand Prix.

I dislike the overall lines. If you look straight at the back of the car...its not too bad.
