The RDX is 4cyl only 272hp/280 lb ft. I wonder how long their V6 will be offered.
Acura has an all new V6 in the MDX. 2021 was the first year. Honda Pilot has a new 3.5 V6 for 2023. Maybe not the RTD. But at least Honda still does 6 cylinders.

Honda lagged behind adding turbos to most of its line up, and still lags behind with basic tech like surround view cameras. Not surprising Honda is behind the times on this too.

Honda has had turbos in their cars for quite some time
. The RDX had a a turbo back way back in 2007, they were the first to market in the segment. .

It is not all-new. There are two V6s available in the MDX, both J-series, which has been around since 1996. Most models have the J35Y5, meaning it's the fifth minor revision of the fourth version of the 3.5L. That specific iteration was introduced in 2014. The Type-S uses the J30AC, which is the first turbocharged application of the 3.0L J35A that was introduced in the 1996 Acura CL and 1997 Accord. It is the seventh minor revision of the J35A--fifth if you exclude the hybrid-specific variants.

others claim the engines are new
A brand-new 3.0-liter turbo V6 designed specifically with Type S models in mind.
The 3.5-liter V6 engine’s brand-new 24-valve, double overhead cam design, which produces 285 horsepower and 262 lb-ft (355 Nm) of torque, also makes it one of the nicest in its class.
They can claim whatever they like, but it is a turbocharged revision of the J30A5, which was introduced 19 years ago. They added forged pistons to handle the boost, along with a new head to add a cam and reduce the compression ratio.
This engine is not used in the MDX. The MDX uses the J35Y5, which was introduced for MY14. The 2023 Pilot uses the J35Y8, which is newer but makes less power. It is a non-VTEC revision of the J35Y6 used in previous Pilots, which is also still used in the Passport, Ridgeline, and Odyssey.

.
They use very specific weasel-words here. The block is unique within the MDX lineup. They are very careful to point out how this 3.0L V6 does not use the same block as the 3.5L V6 found in the MDX. Well of course it doesn't. Because if it did, it would be a half-liter larger. All J30 blocks are 86x86mm--which they try to make sound like is a unique feature of this engine--while all J35 blocks are 89x93mm.

You know you're Honda engines! The "J" is the giveaway, with "K" being introduced for the 10th generation, but I think only the turbocharged 1.5L and 2.0L uses the K designation. I don't know that much about Honda engines, so correct me if I'm wrong

and then they dropped it and didn't add it to the conventional car line up until late in the game, way after other competitors were doing it. I'm not talking about "1st to market"; I'm talking about keeping up with market trends.
I dont even think the all new '23 CRV has a surround view camera, which is a joke.
Thanks! My Dad had one of those MK3 Supras 5spd Turbo with a Targa Top. 1990, miss that car man.
More congratulations on managing to get one! I hope you enjoy it and have lots of fun with it! And very cool, your father's '90 MA70 Supra Turbo 5-speed! Love those cars!
