Hey, folks, last week, I flew to Salt Lake City to test out the new GR Corolla (Core, Circuit, & Morizo) and GR Supra manual transmission on a racetrack. We'll be sharing our driving impressions as follows --
September 7 - Toyota GR Supra manual
September 9 - Lexus RX
September 14 - GR Corolla
But today Toyota shared all of the GR Corolla pricing information -- it starts at just under $37K and tops out at just under $53K. Given the specs involved, how much would you pay for one?

I would pay 53K for a loaded model. The Corolla GR is a very unique experience by Toyota. Japan made, 3 cylinder turbo. 300hp. Toyota badge and not the full time awd. Torsen differentials. And NOT a hybrid...Very cool

Like I said, this would be priced a league above the Civic Type R.
It doesn't seem that way to me. I'm assuming that the new Civic Type R will go up in price over the outgoing model. The outgoing model started at $38,910 and went up to about $45k. The new GR Corolla starts at $36,995, with the mid-trim at $43,995, and tops out at $50,995, so that's a lot of pricing overlap.

There may be overlap, but the ceiling on the GR Corolla is much higher than on the Type R. No matter how much the price increases on the next Type R, there is no way it goes over $50K other than dealer markups.
