I was at Car Week this year and had a chance to check out Lexus display.
They had the new EV sports car, RX, and RZ models. Also got to drive the LC500 convertible.
LC obviously is the best car Lexus offers and it will be sad day when the V8 goes away. I say RUN to the dealer if you want this car.
The EV sport car is one of the BEST designs i have seen. It is amazing looking from every angle. I hope they can build a version in $150-200k range so it can be more accessible.
RX and RZ both look great in person and have plenty of room inside.
I was a bit taken back by how cheap the interior materials felt in both of the cars. I expected RX to be more luxurious for sure.
Overall - nothing much exciting going on here for car enthusiasts or even for folks that want top of the line luxury. The brand continues to be in “transition” phase.
I think this new sports car EV by Lexus looks terrible, no elegance in the design. Just doesn't work IMO. A Tesla roadster looks so much better.
In person - the design is really striking with right amount of elegance and sportiness.
It also looks very production ready. I really Hope they can put this thing in production.
It reminds me of original 2000GT and other beautiful designs of that 60s era from Ferrari, Jaguar etc.

Thanks for sharing. It definitely looks fantastic even in pictures. Kudos to Lexus for this new design. The proportions (long hood and fastback) definitely draw inspiration from the classic sports cars from Jaguar etc. Beautiful!!!
the whole front end (from windshield forward) on that ev is just ludicrously long. not a fan.
and if it's going to be as large as a ping pong table, please tell me there's a frunk big enough to sleep in?
rnm, thanks for posting/sharing - glad you got to drive an LC500, was there a little road course setup there?

In person - the hood is well proportioned. I like the traditional styling instead of the quirky EV futuristic stuff.
You get to drive on part of the “17 Mile Drive” road, which is a scenic route at Pebble Beach. Driving LC500 convertible on that type of road is perfection.
I do feel the exhaust note on the 2022 MY cars is not as loud/aggressive as ones i drove in the past. The downshift to 2nd is still epic though.
