I'd be pissed if I rolled off the lot in my new 'exotic' and couldn't pull convincingly on a bone stock mercedes sedan. So what kind of HP & TQ does this thing need to get 120 MPH 1/4 mile trap speeds if it ends up at 2,800 lbs.?

very good point

i agree w/u 100%, but then again this is honda and we all know they arent known for their boldness

However there is a glimmer of hope here, according 2 the new C&D the car is expected to have at least 350hp, if not more and as much as 380hp...i wonder if someone could calulate acceleration figures using 350hp and 380hp?

Best guess, seeing other cars with similar hp/tq and weight would be about
0-60 in 4.1
1/4 mile in 12.2

MR cars are very good for off the line traction, so they post better numbers on average than FR cars

Default NEW INFO !!

"Sources in Japan have revealed that the next-generation NSX, which is due for launch in late 2005, will be powered by a mighty 3.6-litre 450bhp version of the current model's V6 powerplant."

Source: AutoExpress

Sounds better.

That's a lot of HP for that size...then again, we're talking about Honda here....they know how to get the last bit of HP from an engine....I wonder what the redline will be

I think the current NSX looks better than that thing. The rear is ungainly, horrible. Acura and expensive do not mix with the public, they can't sell NSXs or RLs. Maserati is here now, ASton Martin will have a sub 100k car in 2 years, even Lexus is rumored to have a V-10 supercar at 100k soon. The GT-R is coming too from Nissan. I can see the next NSX doing 4 seconds flat though. Not sure of tuneability.

I am sure it will improve on the already great model but my money would go elsewhere.

I think that car looks awesome and I love the *** end on it....If they keep it in the same price range that the car is in now and up the performance quite a bit...I might think twice about getting one. There is nothing like driving a car that redlines at 9grand!!! Personally I like it better then the Gallardo which cost almost 2 times as much as the current NSX. I think the gallardo looks similar to a new Toyota Celica IMHO....
