Enzo In Sight For New NSX
With Enzo looks, carbon bodyshell and gullwing doors, you would expect this supercar to wear a Ferrari badge. But in fact, this is the Honda Sports Concept (HSC) - and it's tipped to become the all-new NSX. What's more, just like the Italian stunner, it will cause a real stir with cutting-edge technology.
The current NSX has been on sale since 1991, and its all-alloy construction and no-compromise chassis created a vehicle capable of worrying traditional supercar brands. Honda aims to do the same with this model, using carbon-fibre panels similar to those on the likes of the Enzo and Porsche Carrera GT.
It has the looks to match them, too; the headlamps resemble the existing NSX, but otherwise the styling is all-new. The sharp edges and flat sides aren't only for effect, though, as the HSC's aerodynamics have been tuned to give greater downforce at speed without the need for big external spoilers. At the rear, the LED tail-lights have a holographic 3D effect and a glass screen exposes the mid-mounted engine. Unlike the Enzo, the Honda makes do with a revamped 3.0-litre V6 rather than a V12, but it now produces 300bhp and is mated to a six-speed sequential gearbox. The interior, accessed via scissor-action doors, uses blue carbon fibre and a minimalist 'skeletal' dash structure, while the gearlever is replaced by a paddleshifter. Yet despite the technology, Honda insists that the new NSX will be no more expensive than the old car when it arrives in 2005.

Seriously, where's the other motors to make 400hp? It would be great with 400hp.
I must admit that interior looks horrible to me. Hopefully the production car won't have that conversion van-style dash mat and the basketball-style leather upholstery.
As for "only a 300 hp V6", I'll take it. Honda made a 4-cylinder car (the S2000) which outperforms cars costing three times as much. Do you need to do 0-60 in less than two seconds for a sports car to be worthwhile? I suspect the NSX will do it in less than four, which is plenty fast.
Finally, the comment that "I'd never buy a $90K Honda" is pretty ironic when in the same breath you said you'd put that money in your Toyota. Oh, I mean Lexus.

The front:
The back:
The interior:
I'm glad to see that Honda intends to keep the NSX. I hope that this HSC is still purely a concept, as the styling is questionable. Making it resemble the Enzo is not necessarily a good thing since the critics have agreed that the Enzo is probably the least sexy Ferrari being made today. I hope Honda goes back to the studio to make the back look a little less tacked together, and the interior look less like a conversion van.

For myself I would choose the SC3 with GTE swap, LOL.
The car looks sweet, not sure about the interior. For 300hp it better be around 30k I would not spend 90k on that, I could buy a SC & a SUV or a GTE swap in my IS300 and a SUV or wait for the up and coming skyline or supra!

Just my 2 cents...

There is no doubt that NSX is a true exotic sports car. Its 290hp serves it well for the past 10 years, but time has changed. There are so many choices in 90k range, NSX sure maybe still in 4 sec range to 60, but 300 hp on highway E55 or CL55 will blow it away, not to mention the new V10 500 hp M5 or even M3. While they all cost less.
I been a fan of NSX for years, its precise handling/acceleration can even compete with z06 or viper on the track time (both with 100~200 more hps) , but 300hp simply cannot justify its steep sticker price now. I might be too quick to judge before the actual specs though
NSX is a Honda by the way, to tell the truth, even if it's wearing Honda Tag, people will still buy it nonetheless. I don't see the brand "Acura" really sets it different or higher class or anything. These hardcore enthusiast who enjoy NSX would careless about its brand, or they wouldn't buy it in the first place

I don't know if I believe this... I am sure a NSX can hold its own to a Z06 but I dough it could touch a Viper... we are talking about like 495 hp stock on a V10... Do you think a NSX could beat a Lambo ?? If you say no, then the NSX can't touch a Viper because a Viper can blow a Lambo out of the water when it comes to torque and acceleration... Now if you are talking about handling I am sure the NSX is in a field on it own because the Viper sucks when it comes to handling... Since you stated track time and if you are talking drag not a chance... If you are talking road course then maybe...
