They are. Toyota over engineers their turbo cars and always has, this is no exception. This vary drive train has proven reliable with 500 hp. Some have reported seeing 600 hp, but I haven’t seen that so can’t speak to it. This will be an awesome little car… I’m just fearful the price tag will be silly. An epic Corolla is still a Corolla.

you were complaining that the engine at 300 hp is close to its max making it a bad choice to buy. Others have shown where it's actually capable of almost double that power without breaking. Now you're complaining you can't daily that much power. Seems like you just have something against the Corolla GR.

you can always turn down the boost when you want to daily.

Without breaking to me means you can hammer on it constantly at rated power, I don't have any interest in a car tuned to the edge of its life. You CAN get 700-800hp out of a WRX but it will only get you 20-30 passes, or you can get a Hellcat engine and make that stock or turn it up to 1100 with no concerns.

This engine will get you around 350-400, I don't think it will be a repeat of the focus RS popping engines at stock boost since Toyota is better about that. I don't however expect it to be able to safely exceed that

Okay. Well this car isnt for you. You're bringingvup a Tesla which clearly shows you're not the target audience.

I'm curious, how are you going to "hammer" on a car with 500 hp constantly? Are you going to a track every other day?

What about the hellcat which is probably double the price of the corolla, where are you hammering on a hellcat with 1100 hp constantly?

It's not all about power and straight line speed. Seems like that's the only thing that matters to you. So it's obvious it's not the car for you. No need to constantly putting the GR Corolla when many enthusiasts are already lining up to purchase it

At this point you are just arguing with yourself.

What makes this car special has nothing to do with EVs or sheer speed/hp.

Back to this car, now i would like to see 300hp in some GR Yaris special edition.

I have a 600hp A8, I usually launch it 4-8 times a drive and hit 100+ a few times. It's easy to use the power of you have it, it's also fantastic in corners

The whole point of having power is to use it. If you can't or don't really want to get something else

I love our Polestar 2 and I'd absolutely consider this GR Corolla. Probably the first Toyota product I'd consider plunking down money for since my 07 FJ Cruiser. It's different types of enjoyment for sure, but that's why we have multiple cars =)

I don’t see any reports of the tuned Yaris GRs not being reliable. Do you have anything beyond postulation?

We will make sure to ignore the facts we have at present based on your expectations.

Unless you have actual experience with this drivetrain, or can send us proof of it’s limits, your just jumping into a hypothetical argument machine. The article I sent showed that HKS added 200 hp. It ran great, on a track, with repeated abuse. That is a much more robust test than doing a couple pulls on a street during a week’s daily drive.

I have a 500 hp, low 12 second ISF, and your comment here brings your judgment into question unless you live in a desert. 500-600 hp cars are not cars you can drive hard often on the street. They are simply too fast to do so. Your constantly in danger of speeding tickets and endangering citizens. If I get on my ISF, I’m in triple digits very quickly. I drive my 300 hp is350 harder in the daily commute situation.

Heres another one making 473 at the hubs with the only internal mod being valve springs. That would equate to 550 plus at the crank. These guys were gonna build the engine, so they wanted to see what would break… it didn’t.

They been drag racing it, with zero reliability issues…

I'm glad you said it. Get something else and not a Corolla GR. Instead you're in here bashing it when it's not made for you.

"It's east to use the power if you have it". Yep easy to endanger lives, break laws, etc. Anyways done arguing with you because of your nonsensical argument towards the Corolla GR.

I'll see if this plays out the same way the RS did, maybe it will maybe it won't.

A 11s car is perfectly fine for the street btw, just don't be stupid with it and you will be fine.

Looks fun, I'm surprised it's so slow though. I was actually expecting mid 4s not mid 5s to 60 considering it's a performance car.

You’re mistaken. That is the Yaris. This one is expected to be faster.
