because if you disapprove of his attitude, why would you want to do the same?

anyway, if you like this NY law, good for you. i don't like the heavy handedness, and have no interest in living in a place like that.

Nearly true. But government needs to regulate because we can't handle ourselves as polite and team playing human beeings.
I warned the americans times and times again on social media, your craze of "loudest exhaust", "header changes" and "removing the resonator" would actually come back to bite you.
Maybe the situtation can still be saved in the other states if the tuning community would behave, but I guess we can forget it.
Europe has already gone through all of that, having now speed radars that also are flashing if your exhaust is too noisy and strict law requirements of what can be done, and what not in terms of noise.

Because that’s how life is, bucko lol

I don’t like or dislike the law, I like the net effect the law has which is that we will have less noise pollution. I simply don’t care about aftermarket exhausts being outlawed because I have no interest in aftermarket exhausts. If people who bought them had some concern about how they impact others who have to hear them, maybe I’d care. But they dont, so I don’t.

So i got taxed badly yesterday 👎
It was a beautiful day in NY and took my M3 out for a quick drive. Cop pulls me over for no front plate. Explained its my weekend car, just took out from winter hibernation, apologized etc. No luck still gave me ticket….Been running my weekend cars for almost 10yrs without front plate with no issues. Stuff like this really makes me wish i moved to FL lol.

Totally annoying. I don’t run a front plate on the Mercedes either. I’ve never been bothered, but a couple weeks ago I got a parking ticket parked on the street down in DC, and in addition to the parking fine they have me a $50 ticket for the front plate. And my car isn’t even registered in DC I live in MD.

I think it’s either $285 or $385…its not listed on the ticket and I need to confirm from the village where i got it.

At least he didn’t do an exhaust decibel test. I have seen more pullovers recently in my area, more tax revenue needed.

I’m just shocked they would pull you over for something like that, not really what police on patrol should be spending their time doing.

Wow that's high.

Congrats on the Mach 1 order btw. I wouldn't sweat the decibel thing. Nobody enforces it.

Yes - I think tickets went up quite a bit like everything else.
I thought it would be $100 or so.

Ye - i have driven with no front plate on my weekend cars for years. There are a bunch of nice cars and exotics - none of them run front plates. Just another law to tax people…

That sucks seems it was a "petty" ticket, all about the fine and money it brings in. My Supra is a weekend toy like yours too and I don't run a front plate either.

Wow, I didn't realize DC can give tickets to a non-resident for no front license plate seems like another money grab.

Yeah, that sucks. I've been running without a front license plate on my IS since I bought it:

Your supposed to have it but they don't really care here. I would have to drill into the bumper cover which I'm not about to do. It would be a "Fix-it" ticket here, you fix the issue, have a sworn police officer or referee sign off on it and done. The most the fine would be is a $10 or $20 administrative fee
