That's a great color too. Just right for the car.

thats the color I almost got, if it weren't for finding the seats really uncomfortable I would probably have that.

All your pictures are all angles but straight from the behind. i was right behind it for a good drive. It’s odd in the same way I think how the new one looks. If you look at the numbers, almost similar just scaled up.

I was directly behind one the other day and I don’t see that at all, it looks low to me not tall.

My 5 Series has the multi-contour seats option and they are really nice. Maybe the best I've had. The regular Sport seats were just OK for both my wife and me.

I never had issues or feeling about the 7. IMO the one around 2000 is the best looking/luxurious one. After that I don't think it looks that great for the price, same with A8. When this new one came out, maybe I pay attention more and the thing that sticks out was the tall/thick appearance from the behind. Then I saw this old previous one the other day and realized this thickness might have been there already. And the numbers do seem so. The new one grew 2-3 inches each direction. Here is how they look side by side. May not be as bad but definitely the thickness is there.

It's been thick in the rear for a while now, but this latest generation has a higher trunk lid for sure.

Straight on from the rear the new model almost has an SUV look to it

The issue for me is the seat bottom, I don't like the way the thigh extender left that gap there in the bottom, that creates a pressure point for me that makes my legs go numb.

In these pictures the new one looks way taller and narrower.

There were lots of complaints and jokes about the bigger grille after the refresh, but BMW jumped the shark so hard on that in subsequent models that the refresh G12 looks fairly normal.

Agreed there, the first time I saw the refresh G12, I felt it was odd looking. But thanks to their newer front end designs, the car looks normal now. But I also prefer the previous generation LS over the current and the previous generation of S class over the current as well, so perhaps, my tastes don't jive where this segment is headed, which is fine, because I am not a place in life where a car like this makes sense anyhow, so my opinion is irrelevant.

a bit of an optical illusion i think... the new one lacks the lightbar and has the ugly huge black chunks lower left/right and black roof. license plate down low also makes it look taller. but assuming the pics are roughly equivalent field of view, the dimensions don't appear to be much different.
