Default Gran Turismo 7

Once I get my hands on a PS5, will be giving this a go. Over 400 cars in insane amount of details using ray tracing. Weather conditions are specific to locale using simulation of the real world which effects how the car drives. Will be using my movie room with 4K JVC projector for this

The initial car list is quite limited for Lexus, just LC and RC's. Hope they add the LFA!

My son (and his relatives, as Xmas presents) just spent an insane amount of money on a complete Fanatec setup that works with his PC but NOT his Xbox, now we just have to find a PS5.

The way to play these games is with a set of VR glasses, but unfortunately they make me motion sick. I used to have a whole racing setup with Oculus, but I don't really use it anymore.

Damn, you are hardcore! The last video game I played was Bioshock, many, many, many years ago

That's a nice setup. Did you build it yourself?

I tried a wingsuit flyng game on the Vive. Man, I was sick after that one. I almost fell on my ars on one of the dives too.

For a more arcade experience, Forza 5 is fantastic. Here is someone showing off a rebuilt Lexus SC300 driving with a Trustmaster TX.

Yeah, it's a basic playseat with Logitech G27, and Oculus. I built a wood platform for it, as it was too low on the floor for my liking. I was doing a lot better lap times with the Oculus, the 3D vision gives you much better speed and depth perception that a flat screen just can't do.

One solution for the motion sickness I discovered, is to keep talking. If there is someone watching you play, keep having a conversation with them, or if you're by yourself, just keep talking non stop out loud, whatever comes to your mind. Its weird, but apparently it keeps my brain from deciding to make itself spin into motion sickness.

If you're really into proper sim racing, try Live For Speed. It has been pretty much abandoned by its developers, and its graphics are primitive by today's standard, but man it has the best physics out of anything I ever tried.

Bioshock was a very atmospheric game, it would be absolutely amazing in VR.

Och's setup is anything but hardcore but it's damn effective - G27 (way superior FFB to G25, basically the only proper entry option before you get into full customs), proper seat, proper wheel/pedals/shifter positioning, probably a load cell...

Re: motion sickness - I had it at first as well, just had to slowly increment my playtime. VR is a gamechanger for simracing.

Gran Turismo 7 looks incredible. I’m hoping it’s really good. I used to be a huge Gran Turismo and Sega GT fan until I played Forza 2. Ever since then I’ve stuck with Forza Motorsports and Horizon. I just need to get a PS5.

One racing game that I’d love to see make a return is Midnight Club. It was a lot of fun back in the day.

I walked into Best Buy to buy a PS5 for my son for his birthday. They laughed and laughed LOL. Apparently I'm behind the times and these are hard to find!

If you get one at MSRP you can flip it for 2x on the low end, they are insanely hot right now and only GPUs have a worse buy price vs MSRP

Not being a gamer myself, that's hardcore from my perspective. Very cool, I like that platform he built to boost the height
