MG, a moderator at Toyota Headquarters, just submitted a few photos of a cab disassembled from the chassis in order to repair the wastegates, which is a massive operation for such a little issue.
Just recently, Keith from Trigger Happy recently released two YouTube videos of his broken Tundra, which had only 335 miles (539 kilometers) on the clock.
Check engine, limp mode, as well as parking support brake malfunction, are the three warning messages the TFT display in the instrument cluster display.

This was already talked about in-depth in the Tundra thread. But yes, it is surprising to see the V35A having these issues even though it's been out for five years in the LS500.
missed it, as i mostly care about its relation to the LX600. I am probably going to get the lx600 sooner or later.

The 2018 LS had engine (and many other) issues but I don't know if they're related to the turbos. This is from Consumer Reports last year:
Recently it seems that those who had those issues had them fixed by the dealerships because the LS is now back to good standing. So I'm sure Toyota will take care of it the Tundra in due time. First year buyers will have to suffer a little because of current wait times and part shortages though.

Wouldn't at all surprise me if the engine uses different turbos in the Tundra than it does in the LS500.

It uses smaller turbos for better response and low end torque. Mike Sweers said it himself that the cost of the engine is much lower compared to the engine in the LS. So I'm assuming the quality of the components may have been negatively affected. I think this was in a Motoman, TFL or Alex interviews during introduction.

Basically as expected. Not surprising at all nor is the cab off service requirement, should have been a hot V engine.....with 8 cyl
Seriously? Hard to think of a worse design than the hot V, BMW has been revising their N63/S63 for over a decade, and they are still not exactly known for stellar reliability.
