not surprised. speed is clearly a range killer for ev's and yeah i know 72-78 is not all that fast. my ioniq says about 280 on a full charge but i drove 166mi. at highway speeds and recharged with an estimated 60 left if i recall right, so assuming 50 instead, that's 216. i certainly don't think i'd risk more than 210 on a full charge, unless i was driving a fair bit of it at lower speeds. alex on autos on his highland model 3 review i believe, gave good details on why tesla's 'epa' claims are ridiculous or more importantly and accurately, why the epa standards are ridiculous. but yes, we all know it's not the same as a gas car with often double or more the range (and even more with hybrid and phev).
of course it depends how much charge you want left at the destination. on my only 2 'trips' so far, i planned to charge near the destination, so i'd have charge there, and then charged again at same place on the way out from my destination. others mileage (literally ) will vary.
Has anyone been able to get anywhere close to that 300?
Throttle house (if I remember correctly) got around 280 on a full charge taking it on a trip in California. But because of it's massive size, I'm sure trips at 80 mph will bring the range down
You have to remember that 300 estimate assumes 55% city and 45% highway.
if deviate from that projected mix of driving, your range will increase (if you do more city driving) or decrease (if you do more highway driving).
this holds true for all EVs.
i think the epa should have say 3 mixes... maybe 70/30, 50/50, and 30/70. then people could see the one that fits their driving, and the variance between types.

I agree, it would help. With that said, ICE vehicles also assume the same mix - and they have the same problem, albeit in reverse. With ICE cars, if you do more freeway and less city you'll probably see better than the EPA average (and vice versa).
I also agree the EPA estimates should be presented in a manner that speaks to more use cases and should be presented on the sticker as follows:
If you mostly drive in the city, you should expect X.
If you mostly drive on the highway, you should expect Y; and
if you do an even mix of both. you should expect Z.
EPA ratings have always been somewhat misleading IMO, whether for BEV or ICE. Highway testing for ICE is based on a 55 MPH closed loop. Who in the hell drives 55 on the highway anymore? I'm with Sammy Hagar on that one.
Well it’s an extrapolation, but it’s at least based on upon a consistent methodology so you can adjust the EPA number with reasonable certainty if you understand the difference between the test procedure and your actual use case(s).
Saw this last week while in Sedona for Spring Break. I've seen a couple CT's around my area. This is the first one I've seen wrapped. I don't care for the color at all, but it softened the lines a bit. Both of my kids are in love with the CT. My wife says she hates it. But deep down I know she likes it!

I don't care what anyone says, the design is just ugly and needlessly complex for no other reason other than to be an attention *****, IMO. I don't care how good it drives, although I will eventually drive one just to say "I drove one". I guess that makes me somewhat of an attention ***** 🤣
Most people who buy these have no intention to take them off road, the same way most people who own 4x4's never see a day in the dirt. My friend has a fully specced F-150 Raptor with expensive off road tires, yet in one year he hasn't even taken it on a dirt lot. His bedliner is so clean, I don't think anything has ever touched the bed. Same with the majority of my neighbors who have pickups....the beds haven't seen anything heavier than a back pack LoL. My Sienna has seen more action than most trucks I see
