Ride quality is very good. A bit on the stiffer side as it's a sports fastback, but my IS350 is much stiffer. My Sienna has the best ride quality, you barely feel bumps or hear road noise as it has taller tires with thicker sidewalls

Tomorrow is going to be a hot one heading through the Central Valley on my way to SoCal. This will be a good test to see how well my Polestar handles excessive heat at highway speeds. Last trip is was in the upper 90's

I'll take some of that here. It's 56, pouring hard, and is disgusting.

I would love to send you some of our heat! We are having heat waves both here in Northern Cal and Southern Cal

I switched to 18 inch wheels and PS4S so it has a much more compliant ride vs the 20 inch I had and just as sticky. I could probably pull a full 1G or more with these tires.

I way prefer 18" or 19", the 20" are just to harsh and loud. They also reduce range drastically in EV applications

Have you noticed any hit to range with the PS4S compared to stock tires?

Debating between DWS06 Plus or P7 AS Plus 3 for our Y. Different categories of tires because I haven’t decided if I want more grip and fun or better ride quality and less range hit. Still open to other tire options.

Making the trip today in high temps, three people (and my son's cockatiel) and a trunk load of suitcases, the Polestar did very well. Even with the AC blasting, temps above the 100's, efficiency remained high at 33.8 kWh per 100 miles. I got to talk to several EV owners, including two Ioniq 5, VW ID 4, and Mustang Mach E owners. We talked about how we felt about our cars, traded stories, gave advice, and of course poked fun at Tesla and Tesla owners

What does 33.8 kwh per 100 miles mean? Was there a drop in range when blasting the AC going through California? We need more information than the kwh/100 miles, some of us don't know what that means lol.

The PS4S were stock on my 20s. Going to 18s improves my range by about 10%.

I'd stick with high efficiency tires on the Model Y. More comfortable for sure.

A gallon of gasoline contains 33.7 kWh of energy, so to translate, I was getting roughly 100 miles per gallon. On my previous trip I was averaging 32.7 kWh per 100 miles, so there was a little uptick in energy usage, which is expected with more weight and higher temperatures. It wasn't really enough of an uptick to be very significant

What’s interesting is since I bought my EV I don’t even think about how it translates into MPG. It doesn’t even cross my mind. All I know is I get a report from my electric service provider that shows how much it costs me and it’s typically $15 a week which is so minimal that I don’t even think about it. That’s off peak charge, no idea what it would be during regular hours.

I like to break things down to better understand how much I'm using compared to my gasoline cars. People get confused when you start throwing out kWh. This simplifies things. Also helps me justify my decision going EV

Wow not much difference. So how much did it cost you to charge to drive however many miles you went?

Nothing because I get 2 years of free charging. Had I paid the guest rate of .43 cents per kWh it would have costed me $49. Gas fill-up's would have probably been around $120
