I have Pilot and Plus packs and have those LED fog/cornering lights. It's pretty awesome to see them in action at night. very noticeable when you turn the steering wheel
I want to do another data gathering exercise (out of curiosity) using my Polestar as an example to dispel the myth on who spends more time "filling up", is it at the pump filling gas, or at charging stations? Today is Sunday, I had nothing to do (my wife had to work today and I didn't feel like going into the office), so I stopped by the Chevron station near my house. I picked the Chevron station because it was relatively empty as compared to the Arco station across the street. I observed 6 cars fueling, and I put a timer on starting when the person opened their door and got out to fuel, and ended the timer when they pulled the nozzle out and placed it back into the pump. From my observation of these 6 people, the average time was between 10 minutes and 13 minutes, as some people put their credit cards directly in the pump, and some went into the store. So I will pick the lowest number, 10 minutes per fill up. Now based on how my wife and I filled up, it was usually once per week. So we will take 10 minutes per week, that makes 40 minutes per month. 40 minutes times twelve months equals 480 minutes. The average person who fills up with gasoline once a week based on my small sample spends 480 minutes a year.
Now with my Polestar, more than 90 percent of the time I plug in at home, so I'm "filled up" daily and never have to visit a charger or gas station. But when I do go longer distances, I use an EA supercharger, so that would be about 5 times a year. But lets just add two more Super Charging sessions, because you know, maybe an unscheduled trip or an emergency comes up making that 7 Super Charing sessions per year. So I looked at my last 4 Supercharging sessions from my last trip, and the average charging time from 30 percent to 80 percent was about 27 minutes:
So lets round that out to 28 minutes. 28 minutes times 7 is 196 minutes. So that means I spend 284 minutes less per year than a person who spends 10 minutes per week filling up their gas. Hmmm, interesting....
Keep in mind, this is based on my own lifestyle and driving. These numbers may be different for someone else, but from the numerous EV owners I know, my situation is very similar to most other EV owners I'm in contact with

I believe my headlights also move when I corner. I'll verify that
I remember what you said AMIRZA. It was something about that other Polestar having the 20 inch wheels but you're glad you don't have them because of the more harsh ride and a bit of lost range. I don't blame you on that whatsoever.
Polestar does look very nice. I think I like the Volvo equivalent of it a little more. It'll be intriguing when the time comes.
Curious about the Polestar 3 and the Precept. Be nice to try 'em out when they're released.

Yep, glad I didn't get them. The 20 inch wheels look better and grip better, but they have less sidewall and make a lot more noise. They are also way more expensive to replace. I prefer having a quieter ride and more range. I did see the equivalent Volvo XC40 recharge and it's a more luxurious version, but also pricier
Back to your post about gas station times for people filling up. I charge at home and I don’t ever see me charging at a station (or rarely) so I save a lot more time than what you calculated because of this. My firm paid for my Tesla charger and my install was about $900 of which I got around $600 back so it was very cheap to have a fast home charger.

I never really thought about this before, but because people keep claiming how much time they would lose charging and how much they save going to a gas station really got me thinking. So I did quick research, did the math and was actually surprised, really surprised. I believe in honesty and full disclosure, so if the numbers were not in my favor I would have still published my findings while eating crow and holding my nose waiting all the celebrittory and I told you so posts!
I just bought a Level 2 charger from EA for $600, it has the ability to connect to my smartphone through the EA app. I'm waiting for the city to approve the solar that was installed so it can be turned on, then my next step is putting in a 240v dedicated circuit and installing the EA charger, cost will be around $400

What about the constant plugging in and out? Doesn't that drive you nuts? 😉

That's one thing I'm already used to, I have to plug things in to avoid batteries going flat so 4 cars are always on tenders. I have tripped over one once....got pissed off over that since I fell into my mower lol!
