LS600hL is no quieter than any other LS underway. My S560 is definately quieter than my LS460s were, mainly in the area of road noise isolation. The LS was a little better sealed from wind noise, but that could have been my perception because it didn't hide road noise as well. dB readings on both cars are identical, about 58/59 dB at 75MPH. I have never tested a car quieter than that, but I have tested several cars similarly quiet.
ok maybe alex was excited or that was HIS perception, and that's a good point, db #'s aren't everything.

I have heard him call several vehicles "the quietest vehicle we have ever tested"...his exuberance made him make a statement that isn't really accurate. The reality is all of these cars are extremely quiet, and you get to a point really where a car can't be any quieter...

My guess is when I test drive that new G90 on the same stretch of road, its gonna be 58/59 dB lol. LS500 was 62 dB by the way...my Pacifica is 63, so the LS500 is considerably louder than the segment and the previous LS models.

sorry i simply don't believe the ls500 is actually only 1dB quieter than a pacifica minivan.

here's an interesting quote on review of '21 ls500:
Take the speeds down to comfortable cruise and this car has the A8, 7 Series of S450 beat. The ride is pillowy soft, the cabin is supremely quiet

I measured it myself, believe it. The Pacifica is pretty quiet, most cars measure in the 62-64 dB range nowadays.

Yeah, having driven them all I totally disagree. It’s not that it’s not a great car to drive, it’s just not on the same level. the S Class, 7 Series and the A8 ride better and are considerably quieter. I can post multiple reviews that say the same thing

Just for fun, I just looked up the Alex on Autos review of the Pacifica, he got 70 dB in the Pacifica and 71.5 dB in the latest LS he drove, so the Pacifica is quieter.

Watch the Alex on Autos reviews of both…

I think it’s really tire noise. Lexus vehicles aren’t great at filtering out tire noise and the LS500 runs on runflats. I bet if you replaced the runflats it would be quieter.

Chrysler actually makes good cars, it's just you are rolling dice on whether or not a particular car is going to be great or a nightmare. The two I kept have been fantastic but we also had 3 that were junk.

The LS500 is just not a true flagship tier car anymore and it can be seen everywhere on the thing...

LS? He did a 2022, go to 14:46:

71.5 dB, louder than the 2020 he tested. When I drove the refresh LS500 I saw no improvement in noise, there is an improvement in ride. Its just not luxury car quiet inside.

Pacifica he did a 2017 which is what I had, my 2017 and 2020 Pacificas are unchanged. 16:55:

70 dB. So according to Alex the Pacifica is quieter than the LS500. He tests at a lower speed than I do, and wind noise sets into the Pacifica about 70 MPH so that explains why I measured the LS500 as being 1dB quieter.

But no, the LS500 is nowhere near as quiet as an LS460, S Class, 7 Series, A8 etc. He measured 68 dB for the S560, 68.5 for the S580, 68.5 for the G90, 68.5 for the 7 Series, 69 for a GLS, etc

This is the truth, its complete Russian roulette. My 2011 Grand Cherokee was the worst car I had ever had until I gotmy 2017 Pacifica, and then it topped it, but my 2014 Grand Cherokee and my 2020 Pacifica were/have been flawless.

If we stick with a van for a few more years I would like to get a new Pacifica with AWD and the bigger screen...but honestly I'm inclined to keep this once since its proven to be a "good one".

Yep, so you have also experienced it lol! My 2000 Jeep is one of the freak hood ones, aside from the original owners being stupid and overheating it repeatedly ($20 fan relay) it really hasn't had any issues. I just complain a lot since I expect it to work perfectly and at its age that requires a lot of intervention.
