2024 Lexus GX 550
ha, i went into the garage and checked it. yes it's turned on but it moves up and down maybe 1/2" between driving position and exit mode.
i adjusted it to be a bit lower in driving position and telescoped in out a bit. but when it went to exit mode it didn't telescope in, like your mb.

There are some hilariously bad option omissions with this:
Power tilt/telescope wheel requires Premium+ or Overtrail+, this was standard in 2003.
Memory system for mirrors/driver's seat/steering wheel again requires Premium+ or Overtrail+, again this was standard 21 years ago.
AVS only in Luxury+ or Overtrail.
LED fogs as mentioned are Premium+.
4 way adjustable headrests are Luxury or Overtrail+
Wireless phone charger is Premium+ or Overtrail+
Intuitive Parking Assist in Premium+
E-KDSS is locked to Overtrail, proving that Lexus seems to have forgotten how their own systems even perform. KDSS makes the truck SO much better on and off road that it should be available across the line.
There should only be three trims:
Premium should be the base trim and have all the content of Premium+, AVS, and the 4 way headrests, aside from power third row.
Options should be:
Cold Area Package
Second row Captain's chairs
Power third row
E-KDSS
Luxury then would only add a few things standard:
10 way drivers seat
Massaging front seats
Semi-Aniline leather interior trim
2nd row sunshade
Illuminated door sills
21 Speaker Mark Levinson
Cool Box
Power third row
Features would be:
Cold Area Package
Second row Captain's chairs
E-KDSS
Power extending running boards
Panoramic glass roof
Then Overtrail as the offroad trim, but just pretty much make the Overtrail+ the base aside from these changes:
Make the manual third row standard
Cool box standard
Have the following options:
Cold Area Package
Panoramic glass roof
10 way drivers seat/massaging front seats

mostly to do with helping to lower costs.
‘I think the idea is to expand the trim line and appeal to non top spec buyers. So a more bare bones model will appeal to those who want to heavily modify their SUV. A closer to bare bone stock model will give the buyer that option. No fog lights to remove for upgrade. Bare bones stock suspension. Less interior features helps lower the costs.

Nobody really knows what Toyota is gonna do with the Land Cruiser.
It’s all clandestine right now.
Plus. Toyota really wants to expand the GX as there is so much money to be made. Especially the RR Defender

I think that’s a big mistake. A Lexus should have a certain amount of standard luxury features, and power driver adjustments are par for the course, even higher trim mainstream vehicles have them. I love the vehicle, but that’s a mistake as well as using fake wood trim is a mistake.

That is absolutely unacceptable to me as well.
Back in 2013 when the 4GS was introduced, AVS was also a Luxury/F Sport feature. If we look at how German option their cars, this is not bad at all. Sure the wheel should move but others are fine IMO.
So I had some free time to check out cars. I decided to stop by LR to check out the RR and Defender. IMO, the defender is nowhere considered luxury. But maybe they did this way for the off road/dirty rides. The RR on the other hand is a damn nice luxurious transportation.

Fake wood and manual seat adjustments on a Lexus? You've gotta be kidding me. This company has really fallen from their heyday. No ttv8 when the Germans have/had an abundance of them, completely ruining the LS, canceling the GS, no true competitor to the premium German crossovers when they easily could have done so, horrid styling, the list goes on. Now to find out that they are using fake wood, I really cannot believe that one. There is basically no reason to buy a Lexus. They are nowhere near the Germans and really no better than Lincoln or Buick.
Yes I agree it's pitiful they are using fake wood. Probably trying to look green, though it turns me and a lot of others like me off. Lexus has never used fake wood, guess it didn't take much to buckle under the pressure.
You're stuck with the fake stuff, there's no real wood option at all on the new GX???
