"GDR" = "got damn right!" ?

In any case let's get back to the GX.
ttV6 I'm sure will be plenty potent. Just PLEASE NO BATTERIES. NO STANDARD HYBRID.
I really dig the mirrors and aggressive fender flares.
Huh??? LOL I've been a member since 5 minutes after you became one in 2012. I'm not a frequent poster, but I definitely have been here a long time. Do you remember something I don't from January/February 2012? Back then, really odd to have discussed that.Originally Posted by AJT123

I was referring to the LFR in passing, there might be a TTV8 in the Lexus lineup going forward, just not in anything launched this year nor the LC-F, which got cancelled. We'll see what else could get that engine, but a very fat chance it's accessible below $200k.
I hear very awful things on "LFR", in terms of price.

it is obvious the Tacoma 4 cylinder hybrid with full time 4WD will be the powertrain option.Originally Posted by AJT123

I don't like the mirrors at all. They are same style as the FJ CruiserOriginally Posted by AJT123

this is sort of what the GX will look like in style. Toyota is basing the GX off this program as per my source. (You can see the rear belt line go up in the GX is the same style). (same mirror look)

I'm talking about a thread about Toyota canceling V8 development, that's it. It's a couple years old. Originally Posted by Carmaker1

I simply don't recall interacting much with you and you have a specific posting style which is different than most which I also don't really recall. That's all I'm saying.

In September 2021, I brought up the cancellation of the LC F being unfortunately true and it not being resurrected, parallel to the time I created this thread. Made the discovery via the LC F trademark lapsing, while finding GX 550 filing.Originally Posted by AJT123

I think we discussed the TTV8 as well, but as you can see other users had been discussing the F models before me and then heard me point out the cancellation.
However, we didn't know about "LFR" plans back then. All we knew was from what I had heard like some others, Lexus kept showing an LC coupe with a TTV8 under the hood at private events and we were wondering why?
Otherwise, I rarely can keep up with discussion and fade out very quickly from fatigue. I'm not on here a lot, unless it involves future product. Car Chat is too busy for me to chime in frequently, since I'll get buried very fast amongst other discussion.
Since I do not work for myself and have a very busy inflexible work schedule in a restricted setting, I have usually very little time to log in.
There is no standard hybrid, GX 550 is like LX 600. Source claims that their company's commodity only deals with the T24A-FTS powertrain on the GX, but since he also worked on the 4Runner T24A Hybrid, it makes sense.

She might mean GX 550h? I spoke to one of my sources today, that has the GX for a work order. She's correct, but only in that context.Originally Posted by Rommelromm

If she means the regular GX 550, well...

Is GX getting hybrid 4cyl from Tacoma or 6cyl Turbo from LX600 that is detuned maybe hence the 550 and not 600 moniker.

Both are being offered, to my knowledge from the Toyota HQ contact and the other contact confirmed the T24A-FTS Hybrid as of this morning. A lot of people out there, are adamant about the V35A being gas only, while GX will be electrified in the hybrid model alone.Originally Posted by RNM GS3

The green emoji grin referred to saying Rommel wasn't wrong in terms of "trolling", if Jill was knowingly calling the non-hybrid GX 550 a hybrid I4.
As we both know, Lexus is very specific about h suffixes, representing all hybrid offerings. Without that suffix, the vehicle is NOT a hybrid. Jill knows that and has since the RX 400h debuted in 2004.
If she meant GX 550h, then she is right on the money and shouldn't be accused of trolling. That's what I have been saying a long time about the two nameplates.
The GX 550 is TTV6 V35A-FTS. GX 550h is T24A-FTS (aka i-Force MAX). I'm not sure how the battery will be mounted in the latter vehicle compared to the Sequoia, since it will be Lexus' first BOF midsize hybrid.
LX 700h I'm even more curious about, as the most expensive Lexus SUV ever made when it comes out 2025ish.

I appreciate these insights on the new GX. Should we expect the Land Cruiser engine offerings to be similar?Originally Posted by Carmaker1
