GM just recalled the Bolt because of the fault with the batteries, which are supplied by LG. Are they using the same LG batteries in the Hummer? If so, they will probably have to recall it before it even goes in production.

Apparently it was a robot that messed it all up. So perhaps it was on the GM factory installation part…so many be the batteries will be fine

That I don't know. I've cancelled the Hummer reservation and am now getting an F-150 Lighting EV instead, which is not coming out until Fall 2022. Ford is most likely using the same batteries that are in the Mach-e. The Hummer EV 2x is not coming out until Fall 2023, so I am sure that whatever battery issues GM is having will be sorted out by that time

They problem with the batteries themselves has been identified. If the Hummer's batteries get recalled it won't be for this exact reason.

It effected Hyundai as well, so the blame is on LG for this one.

No, its been confirmed to be the LG battery, and LG apparently supplies batteries to Ford, Jaguar and Audi as well as residential products. Their residential products are being recalled.

Mach-e batteries are also LG. Park it far away from anything flammable.

I don't think Mach-e has been affected by this recall. They did have a software glitch a few months back that didn't allow the car to charge, but that's been addressed and fixed
It just confuses me that GM is trying to revive Hummer by not really reviving it. Its a GMC Hummer, next GM will roll out a ev sports car called the Chevrolet Pontiac. It's a awesome truck, but it probably would've been better to just bring back Hummer all together. Just my 2 cents.

California and Connecticut is where most Hummers were sold, made popular here by Arnold Schwarzenegger and tax credits by the then Bush administration and cheap gas. Today a gas guzzling Hummer would never sale (it's not hip in LA anymore). But an EV version will sale like hotcakes here. The Hummer EV Edition 1 is already closed to new reservations

It would be dramatically more expensive to relaunch the brand with full dealerships, marketing support, and additional overhead. They're not trying to flesh out a line of Hummers here, just the pickup and SUV. It's seen as GMC's flagship model.

Going EV was a smart move in bringing it back in the pickup and SUV form, the Edition 1 is already closed to new reservations
Refused my Hummer this weekend. I was already close to cancelling the order before it came so I’m not too bummed.
I don’t know what I was expecting but I just couldn’t get into it. The straight line acceleration was cool but it felt very ponderous and there were so many cheap materials in the interior. Even worse, the wind noise past 50mph from the roof panels was obnoxious. I’m not at the point where I’m kicking myself for not ordering a Rivian though. I think I’ll try the EV pickup game again in a year or two when the EV Silverado and RAM come out.
