i was amazed to read the pickup hummer is 20" longer than the suv hummer.
i assume they're about the same width though, over 7 feet... no good for most garages unless you use a 2 car garage for that one vehicle!
I have a two car detached garage, but in reality unless you have 2 Honda Fit sized cars, they would be too close to realistically park two cars in there. Most importantly though, my wife has claimed the garage as hers and uses it for storage. She put rubber flooring in it, filled it with shelves so no cars can go in there. My son uses it as a gym, so it's also full of exercise equipment. Luckily the back yard is big enough, it was designed with an RV or boat storage in mind
As for the Hummer, I am starting to have second thoughts. It is pretty massive, and I just took a look at the F-150 Lightening EV up close, it's not as massive, has the same cab space, same range (300 miles) and is half the price
Well guys, after seeing a pre-production Ford F-150 Lightning EV, I cancelled my Hummer EV reservation...and now have an F-150 reservation. It's not as massive as the Hummer EV, but has the same room. The Frunk can carry up to 400 lbs, and 1000 lbs payload in the back. The extended range version will run me about $49K while the Hummer starts at $89K. An almost 600 HP truck you can drive without the penalties. Kind of like having your cake and eating it. And that Frunk...
Congrats! Likely a more practical choice. The Hummer is superfluous in every way.
I totally agree. I'm about practicality, this would be a practical replacement for our Sienna. That and my wife was scared when she saw the size of the Hummer!
Thanks (again)! Right now there are about 250k on pre-order. So I'm thinking mid to end of next year, of course keeping in mind the pandemic doesn't get in the way. Get vaccinated people!
Plenty for me. The most load I would ever have is 500 lbs. The cost of driving will be roughly 85 MPG. If you compare it to the new 2021 Toyota Sienna Hybrid which gets 35 mpg, it's $3.86 (the current cost per gallon at Costco), the F-150, almost half that cost. 245 HP for the Sienna vs 563 HP/775 Peak Torque for the F-150. Win/Win over the new Sienna

‘Cool. I think the front truck is a pretty awesome idea for the F150. Will be interesting to see it side by side with the Ford F-150 hybrid

The problem with the F-150 with the downsized turbocharged engine is power. It has the 10 speed auto and it's always hunting to find the right gears. The Hybrid will have the 3.5L Ecoboost with 430 HP, which is plenty of power, but MPG is speculated to be 22.87. Not bad for a truck that size with a 14,000 lbs towing capacity, but the the lightning EV has more power, more torque and better MPGe.
Side by side they will pretty much be the same, except for the "Frunk" and the infotainment screen. The Lightning will get the same screen as the Mach-E. Also the Lightning will have rear independent suspension, which none of the other F-150's have, as far as I've heard at least
