I read your posts, thank you. you seem to be saying tesla service shops should either 1) recharge customer cars for free or 2) provide chargers for non-service visitors to use (and pay for it, if it can’t be done for free).

while that would be nice, about 1), my point is since NO ICE service shop puts gas in a car in for service, why should tesla charge their EVs in for service? because it’s easier to install chargers than a gas pump you said, and because gas stations are obviously more widely available than EV chargers, is that right?

about 2), i would think tesla simply wouldn’t want non-service cars showing up to charge, taking up parking space.

Yeah, sorry for the confusion. That is the increase over what I am paying now.

Yeah, over what I am paying now. I just verified that the Corvette I have a deposit on will only be $88 every six months over what I am paying now with me listed a the primary driver. Huge surprise, especially considering I've got a newly licensed 16 year old son in household.

Having non-service Teslas show up to charge at a service station is a completely horrible idea. It's already busy as is and the chargers they have go to cars that have finished servicing and awaiting customer pickup.

Yeah, no matter how you spin or twist it, just not a good idea.

First, awesome news about your Corvette deposit... That 2020 Corvette is sick!

Back to the Model 3, wonder why your numbers are so much higher than some of the owners posting here saying theirs only went up $100 or so per year compared to other Lexus models (I believe one person said a 2015 IS)..?

Lexus dealers will often fill the tank if you are in for a Recall service. Maintenance no.

Interesting.
This latest video says that the Model 3 is: fast, fun, functional, but also flawed....

Insurance costs vary wildly depending on the insurance company. There are certainly reasons why it might be higher - labor rates @ authorized repair facilities are at least $50 more per hour than other makes, parts cost a lot, parts take a long time to come in, other 'risks' that come along with having a new car from a new car company with a limited track record. For my 3 wife's LR AWD 3, her insurance went up ~$15 per 6 months compared to her 2013 CX-5. For my Performance, it went up ~$60 per six months compared to my GS.

For 3 cars (2 3's, 1 Ody), I'm paying about $1000 per 6 months for 250/500/250 which is probably more than I need.

Sounds reasonable. All of my friends with Tesla's had an incremental increase in insurance for the same car segment. It's a premium car so it will be somewhat expensive to insure but in the same ballpark as other luxury makes.

Although there are some exceptions, from my experience over the years, is that GEICO, in general, has the lowest premiums.....especially if you are a good driver and don't rack up a lot of claims.
