Just noticed that they're debuting their next-gen corporate infotainment software with this car, unlike the Ioniq 5 and EV6 which share the infotainment with existing HKG models. We'll probably see this in the G90 next, followed by Hyundai and Kia models in the following year.

If there is decent rear leg room, i'll consider it. Don't need a huge amount of room and if it has efficient packaging (it should as its an EV) then it may do. Not my choice though...will let the wifey decide

can't really compare the gv70 with any of the others because it has room for a honking great ttv6 up front. this gv60's packaging will be vastly superior and i doubt it will have much if any less room than the gv70, but we'll see.

It's funny to me how the design is way more conservative than the Hyundai/Kia platform mates yet the marketing material has it with the most outrageous in your-face color combinations.
well the 'ev thing' requires either white exterior/interior marketing, or some other gimmick... but then the yellow is also being used on the new nissan z

i think this gv60 in a dark blue will look stunning. in 2.5 yrs when i'm looking again, maybe it will be on my radar as i don't want anything huge.

Good looks inside and out, , but it looks like they made the same mistake Toyota did with the CH-R...sits too low to the ground for a crossover, and not enough clearance.

I agree with Motorola, though......that neon yellow-green would certainly not be my first color choice.

All of these EVs look the same with the same dumb interior with tablet display.

Its like they all use same supplier for these parts and just stick it on top of the dash.

BMW is actually going to put this design in the regular 3series next year I believe.

I haven't seen the official factory color-chip, but, from the images I've seen, the new Z's yellow seems to be more of a true yellow, if not overly-bright. This G60's yellow-green looks more like what the Dodge Neon offered when it came out 25 years ago.

Small world...you and I could end up driving small crossovers (Encore GX, G60) that more or less compete against each other in the upmarket class.

I was thinking more along the lines of the Kia Soul lime green, which is probably not the association that Genesis wants lol.

In fact the more recent Kia Soul EV made its press debut with the exact same color...

I always thought cameras to replace the side mirrors was a good idea, but now that i see the screens on each door, I'm not sure i like it. I'll have to see it in person to make final judgements - I'm sure the viewing angle is much nicer on them.

With in gauge cluster mirror views automatically displaying like on most new hyundais/kias/genesis, there's no need for the stupid screens on the sides.

Exclusive: Genesis GV60 will be first EV to include wireless battery charging
The Genesis GV60—the Hyundai luxury brand's first dedicated electric vehicle, due next year—is shaping up to offer a technology first: It will be one of the first global-market EVs with original-equipment wireless charging.

The hardware, claimed to be supplied by WiTricity, will initially only be offered (or enabled) in South Korea, Genesis confirmed Friday to Green Car Reports. The brand will first incorporate the wireless charging tech on the GV60 as part of a test, or pilot program, in that market in the later part of next year.

Genesis did not mention wireless charging in the press materials for the GV60, which was revealed this past week, and it couldn't confirm if and when it might offer wireless charging in the U.S. But it's likely a technology advantage that would be extended to other markets. The Hyundai Motor Group has said that the tech could play a convenience role for some vehicles built on the E-GMP dedicated EV platform the GV60 shares with the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6.

According to WiTricity, it's the first time a new battery electric vehicle will be equipped with the technology. Several entries from China, which has adopted streamlined standards for the tech, could arrive around the same time in early 2022, or narrowly beat the GV60. But none of those models appear bound for the U.S. and Europe like the GV60.

Wireless charging technology has been available as an aftermarket retrofit for years, but it's been a niche product. Such inductive tech uses a magnetic field through two coils to allow current transfer, charging the EV's battery pack over the course of hours without any physical connection.

Wireless charging has a lot of potential in electric vehicles, as it could potentially allow drivers to charge wherever they go—at shopping centers, for instance, and in snow and winter weather—without having to get out of the car and fuss with a heavy charge cord and connector. A parking tool would simply make sure the car is aligned for the best charge.

BMW has been conducting a trial of the tech in some 5-Series plug-in hybrids, but it hasn't shared results of that test quite yet.

Genesis hasn't released technical information for the GV60, but both the Ioniq 5 and EV6 offer a 77.4-kwh battery pack that, in some versions, should enable more than 300 miles of range, and they're taking all kinds of charging seriously—including speedy DC fast charging and bi-directional capability that could be used for future smart-home features. Hyundai has said the Ioniq 5, as the first model in the parent company's mass-market EV push, will dominate the Tesla Model Y in terms of miles of range recovered.

In the U.S., a single standard for wireless charging that will harmonize charging at up to 11 kw might help move things along. Some consolidation in the business happened in 2019, when Qualcomm sold its Halo wireless tech to WiTricity.

For now, the real hurdle will simply be convincing enough stakeholders to install the charging pads and hardware. That means automakers, business owners, and customers—possibly even charging networks. And if a luxury brand like Genesis steps up, it could be the start of something great.

With the new software in the GV60 having full-screen navigation maps in the digital gauge cluster for the first time in any Hyundai/Kia/Genesis vehicle, I wonder if the GV60 or future HKG products will even come with the blind spot camera once they switch over to the new UI.

I think a lot of them do have the same supplier, everything looks and feels the same down to the graphics.

That applies to non-EV's too. Pretty much the only thing that's OEM-exclusive anymore is the platform and powertrain.
