Default Steering wheel stutters when try to turn

I had some flooding and I drove through em in my is 250 . I drove home and everything was normal . When I got in my car about 30 mins after being home to go to the store . The steering wheel skips when it’s turn. It doesn’t really turn right and it like stutters when you try to turn it .any ideas?

If the flooding was deep enough, it may (?) have shorted out or damaged done of the electrical sensors for the steering system. Most newer cars and lighter trucks have electrically-operated power-steering racks instead of hydraulic, although some heavier trucks still use the more durable recirculating-ball system.

You may have actually been lucky. In most cases, the term "Turn Around, Don't Drown", means what it says. It is foolish to try and drive through flooded areas......far too often, vehicles are severely damaged, or, worse, swept away with their occupants.
