5 Things Lexus NEEDS for Next-Gen F Models
Hey, Folks, Palmer here from the front-page editorial team... With the IS 500 coming out soon as an F Sport Performance, I had one of our writers turn their attention to next-generation F vehicles. What should they be like? What do they need to compete with their American and German rivals?
Here's our post: https://www.clublexus.com/articles/5...-gen-f-models/
What do you think? What features and performance specs would make a next-gen F be a must-buy? And which model would you want to see first?

It would be nice to have a follow up to LFA, GT3 version of current LC500 (aero, sportier suspension, less sound deadening, sportier seats), ISF with 3.5TT motor pushing 500hp and same setup on next gen RCF.
All this is very doable but there has never been a consistent commitment from Toyota/Lexus and you need that to have any chance of building a following for enthusiast models.

LC-F cancellation is just rumours. Lexus said during the IS500 F Sport Perfomance presentation that more models are planned so just wait and see lmao.
nit-pick: It's a 4.8-liter V10, not a 4.0-liter.
I think an F Sport Performance SUV would be fine. Family hauler + plenty of power = fun. And people will eat it up. If that does well, maybe a full-on F model would be nice. I think they'll ultimately be held-back by the TNGA, FWD-based models however.
Otherwise, I agree all the other traits mentioned would be great to have. Lexus does indeed make some stunning cars that are well-made, so as long as that part remains intact I'll be happy.

LC-F as initially engineered and made has been canceled. What we might get is LC F-Sport Performance model with just V8TT shoved in. Original LC-F was much more extreme toy in the making.

And it will definitely need 650+ hp as it'll still be 4200-4400 lbs.

I guess I just don’t think Lexus will do a performance EV for a long time. I see with the RAV4 and the new NX, the plug in is the range topping model for performance…so that is where I got that idea from.
I would love to see more F models in general and for Toyota to really put effort into the cars. The previous F cars are great but the competition has so much power now.
I hope that they bring the GS and GS-F back in some form to compete with the 5 Series and E Class, along with their performance versions. A powerful midsize sedan is awesome.
