I agree the taillights are meh looks like a Jeep, and it lost the split tailgate. Not happy about that last part. IH8Mud hard core *****ing going on about it. Split tailgate goes wayyyyy back on LCs. The new V6 offers some impressive power figures but I think die hard owners will miss the V8. I can tell you the 5.7 is a freakin' beast.. I know it sucks down gas but it is a pleasure to drive and listen to.

I just want to see the LX, which we in USA are apparently getting. TTV8 could be a possibility.

I do like the split tailgate, but obviously thats a minority opinion as they are phasing out on more vehicles.

If the LX has a TTV8 I will buy you one lol

I've never understood the benefit of the split tailgate except to use the 'bottom half' as some kind of bench or seat.

Can be used a truck. Just leave the top hatch up. Can be used as bench for work or sitting. Easier to carry longer items.

You might want to look at the McLaren mp4-12c and the Patrol y62/related Infinities (equipped with "Hydraulic Body Motion Control").

TL : DR - same hydraulic concept that Toyota's been using since the GX470 or so, but without the stabilizer bar. Biggest advantage - does not have the negatives of a roll bar in the first place - it does NOT steal from the inner wheel's spring rate to boost the outer wheel's rate, while still achieving an antiroll effect. Better grip, better stability.

Not sure why Toyota's sticking with its "sway bar disconnect" given what they've done in the past...

...and I'd really love to see another uzz32-style skyhook suspension option (other than what MB has been doing with ABC/MBC)... but alas.

Not impressed.

The other big benefit IMO is that stuff doesnt roll out of the hatch when you open it. And you can use it like a truck like Jill mentioned.

i've never had anything 'roll out of the hatch' when opening a regular rear door.
As far as using it 'like a truck' and opening only the top half, i guess that's when you might use it for something like having 2x4's sticking out the back? i've done that in a regular suv just by putting a towel on the armrest or front passenger seat folded forward.

You dont have kids lol. I have stuff rolling around that rolls out of the hatch when things shift all the time.

I'd rather have 2x4s sticking out the back then have them on my armrest.

Great for tailgating. Or sitting on around a fire. Or to hang your legs out if you sleep in the truck.

‘The drawback of the drop down hatch is that you have to reach farther.

Yes the twin turbo v6 will be the base engine. Apparently new Tundra is also coming with another optional engine which as per Toyota is going to be very impressive with some sort of new technology. Whether that is TTV8 or some sort of plug in hybrid we will know soon
