I do like the front end. I also like how the design is similar to the outgoing model. Adaptive variable suspension is still available as well.
Quote: Of course I can’t find it now I am kinda disappointed Toyota just lifted a car engine and shoved it in this, they did with the Tacoma too. I bet 4Runner is gonna just get the 3.5 V6. . Total cost saving move. ]

So you think this 300 series was cost cut? I'm not crazy about the weight loss, I just feel it might lose a bit of the tank feeling. I do feel like this thing will probably haul *** though with this new engine. But none of us with 5.7s are going to care, like when the V8 6.2 Raptor people called the newer 3.5 Gen 2 Jenny. Yeah Ecoboost is faster but sound and feel compared to V8? I doubt people rushed to turn their 6.2s in.

The no tailgate is really annoying to me. We plan to sleep with our feet hanging out of the tailgate in the middle of the desert someday soon, it will be useful.

I want to read a road test asap, and see what Lexus has cookin'.

I think a lot of the weight savings could come from the engine and a more compact transmission. Hope sound deadening was not part of the weight savings though.

doesn't do a lot for me exterior or interior but i'm sure it's a fine go anywhere vehicle.

this caught my eye though:

Quote:
A new TNGA-F platform is based on Toyota’s well-traveled unitized platform but with a strong “frame structure” welded together for toughness
so does 'unitized' and 'frame structure' still mean body on frame?

Sunroof looks too small, no pano roof. My guess is there's a legit reason for that, though.

Looks badass and the engine choices are perfect for it! Too bad it won't come here

Oh it'll be back, I'd put money on it.

And probably with a TT V8 as an option or standard would be thank you very much.

I'm hoping that's the next LX that comes with the V8. We just might get it. 680HP Escalade is approved.

I'm hoping Lexus does a better job with the front end; I'm not a fan... ;(

Answering my own question
New LC uses tnga-f which is body on frame.

Tough as nails I'm sure but I don't like that it lost 400lbs, personally.

Lighter didn't necessarily mean weaker. You can always throw bags of rocks in the back.

Stellar looks. Love the new front styling, dash, and center console. Very nice update. I'd say the weakest piece are the taillights.

I think it looks great. much better than the old one, looks more space efficient too which was a HUGE problem with the old one. V8 is a bummer, especially since its competitors still offer V8 power options.

Interested to see the new LX.
