How can there be no future in EV tech on a massive scale, yet almighty Toyota who is so smart we just don't understand have a plan for 25 EV models?
And saying what your goal is and showing that you are building towards that goal are two different things. We see nothing basically from Toyota, yet we see many examples from other companies with far less resources than Toyota. Bottom line is they are many years behind their competitors with development of this tech, which is why we don't see it anywhere. "We'll be just like everybody else in 15 years" doesn't impress me. Toyota should be toe to toe with Tesla with this tech NOW.
I can say in 5 years I want to be Mr Universe but considering I've drank 5 Mountain Dews today and havent exercised in many, many years that doesnt mean much lol.
I really hate how politicized this has become (I don't mean us here, just in general). Pro Ev you're this and Anti-Ev you're that. I'm not bringing up politics, I'm just saying.....I wish it weren't like this.

Who said there is no EV on a massive scale? I said no way all battery electric can possibly be the future.. It will be impossible to convert the entire world to all battery electric...thus the point of hydrogen fuel cells. Think money, business and dollars and cents...forget 0-60times, forget over the air updates, forget the sexiness of charging at home....GM has a 200kw/h battery for their Hummer EV...A fuel cell Mirai has 1.2kw/h battery which is the same battery as the Lexus LSh......How many batteries can Toyota make out of the Hummer battery? Further, the Mirai uses the electric motor from the Lexus RXh model...just think from a business person POV....it is absolute no brainer that a FCEV will be the dominate electric vehicle at some point in the future...a no brainer
the battery electric market has a capacity of how far it can go...which currently is at a microscopic 2% in the US.....
Thats not really about cars as much as it is other transport areas.
that is exactly why I said that it is impossible to convert all needs to battery electric. Only Toyota, Honda and Hyundai will be able to sell fuel cells small cars.
Land Rover, Mercedes and BMW are still invested in fuel cells as well
you're an equal opportunity hater except for tesla.
Call me names all you want doesn't change the facts. GM invested in two EV startups one is all but dead the former CEO and CFO likely committed fraud. If that's what you consider "hate" well then you be you.
