After you're $130K in debt, you get the privilege of telling people on the internet that you don't have to pay for gas!
You need to spend six figures to save hundreds per month, so spend money to somehow save money.
People that buy $130k Plaid don't buy it to save money on gas. Most Plaid buyers I know choose financing simply because its the better financial decision due to cheap debt. Avoiding horrendous gas prices is just a side benefit

Yeah I really didn't care about saving money on gas but it is nice not having to fill up every week with these gas prices, it's just a little bonus of having an EV. Also, my interest rate is 1.69%, why wouldn't I take advantage of financing at that low rate, it's cheap money.

Well, $3k a year is a pretty nice bonus . I would get the Plaid if it was slightly smaller but its a little too big for my tastes. I'm hoping they come with an upgraded Model 3 Plaid
I've never bought a car outright as financing is a way better financial decision in most cases. Debt has been cheap forever and my cash goes toward higher yield investments so i see it as money wasted to outlay large amounts of cash upfront. I still have student loans I can pay off anytime but the interest rate is 2%! Not bothering paying off anything at a 2% loan.

It's a high end stupid fast supercar, nobody who is spending $100k plus cares about saving gas. They just want to beat Lambo's that are 5 times their price. Saving money on gas is just a bonus

saying that on a 50k model 3 is a valid statement.
those spending over 100k on cars don't care about the money on gas. those spending >100k on the plaid, they get to tell people they beat lamboghini day in day out

I disagree with that. If you have a 5 year old Corolla or Civic that's paid off and you run out and buy a $50k model 3 solely to save gas, then that statement would apply. Anyway, you shouldn't run out and buy a $50k Model 3, or any $50k EV just to save gas, unless that was your budget, you were looking for something practical that's fast, fun, and will have the added advantage of saving money on gas. Did I confuse you enough?
If there were dealers, the consumer would get a better price on a Tesla as they could shop dealer vs dealer. Tesla's way just inflates the MSRP, the consumer loses with less competition

You know why Tesla doesn't have dealership's, right?
It's actually a good thing because Tesla was able to work around and cut out the middleman. They would be more expensive sold through dealerships because of markups. Like this RAV4 marked up to $90K in an Oakland dealership:

It's very simple. Don't buy one if you think the price is too high. One of the reason I bought a Polestar over a Model 3 was it was $10K cheaper. Buying online is the only way I'm buying for now on

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I wish all dealers were factory and not franchise

I think most people want it like that. Dealers are the middlemen that destroy the margins of the manufacturers and are there strictly because they were once needed in an age where there was no ability for OEMs to roll out a national footprint easily. They are an anachronism that has survived by forcing laws that enable their parasitic behavior in the value chain. Its a farce that you would get better pricing from dealers and completely unrealistic as dealers require margin from sales to keep afloat. Cars would be vastly cheaper without dealers and the whole system would be vastly better off allowing direct sales than the current system that enables these parasites to continue to live.
