LEXUS TO REVEAL NEW CONCEPT CAR SPEARHEADING EXCITING AND SUSTAINABLE BRAND VISION
Lexus will introduce its renewed brand vision, along with a new concept car previewing the next generation of Lexus vehicles, during an online event to be broadcasted on Tuesday March 30, 2021 at 12:00pm CET at the following address: All New 2021 Concept Car | Lexus Europe
Profile reminds me of the Mirai, and that's a very good thing. Doubt if they would use the GS name if it's a BEV though. Lexus's recent trademarks of the LF-Z and RZ450e might point to them using the Z nomenclature for zero-emission cars.
We've seen this concept numerous times before, and it's clear from the new side profile that it'll be some kind of coupe-SUV. Proportions are still very much FWD-based, so I assume a production version will use the same TNGA-K platform as Toyota/Lexus's new FWD offerings. It's likely this will be the basis for the RZ coupe crossover.

If it's a BEV, it could just as well be RWD regardless of proportions. I hope they keep prices reasonable. Wouldn't mind a BEV Lexus SUV for the family hauler duties

Not necessarily, the UX EV in Europe uses the TNGA-K platform is a FWD-based. The only way it would be RWD is if it were built on a bespoke EV chassis or existing RWD global architecture.
It's too early to say because this is nothing more than a design direction concept car rather than a production vehicle.

I assumed you could just place the motor on the rear axle in any EV. I haven't seen an EV thats AWD with a just 1 motor driving all 4 wheels. I guess you are right in that if its a TNGA-K, it may not be AWD, just FWD. I guess i'm hoping they have a new skateboard type chassis for this concept.
Looks pretty damn good! If its their BEV, maybe they will bring back the GS name.

I agree it looks like a mid-size sedan aka GS replacement albeit a BEV version. It looks similar in concept to the Audi A7 aka a liftback sports 4 door Grancoupe.
My theory : BEV will be the halo powertrain but I don't doubt there will be a hybrid powerplant in the model lineup. Reason : not every country has the necessary infrastructure for a pure BEV to sell in high numbers.
