What is the big issue? Doesn’t fill the whole screen?

didn't say it's a big issue, but yes. It is slightly better than the hyundai though in that it can display media playing to the right of the map or main AA app, whereas the hyundai just has a black area showing Android Auto which is useless. Like this (palisade) shot:

I don't use AA all the time... the car's built in nav (santa fe) is very good. On the lc the graphics look ancient/plain, but the system is still good.

Oh I see. My car play fills the whole screen. Not a fan. Rather have some useless information to be visible. But I don’t really use car play anyway.

do you like Hyundai nav versus the Lexus nav?

Mmkay, can't understand why you'd want useless information, lol.

The graphics on the hyundai system are vastly better. One thing i can't understand on the LC nav is the colors are so muted / bland.

but with both i also look at directions on the HUD so i don't care about the screen as much.

Wait - can you choose to have something else displayed on the right side of the screen? Or do you have to have it display what kind of phone you have? Super dumb.

Can you not swipe up and down on the right panel? On mine it rotates through a compass, weather, and something else that I can't remember at the moment.

Regardless, I do hope the new AA update brings widescreen format. Looks so small since everything else takes full advantage of that widescreen format.

And thanks for the congrats!

It’s not. The Elantra Apple Car Play does it too. Just saw it on the Hyundai Elantra ad on TV during the US open

As was shown further up in the thread theres a setting within Hyundai's infotainment that allows carplay to be full screen, it just comes from the factory as off. With Android theres no such setting. I've never seen a car with widescreen nav that will display AA on the full screen, including the aftermarket module I had in my LS460L.

In bit's LC500, Carplay is full screen and AA is not. Same in my Mercedes.

An option within the settings menu removes the split screen for Apple Carplay in the H/K/G cars, forcing it to utilize full screen. This is not possible for those using Android currently.

Ah. Got yah. Thanks. Interesting Hyundai marketed the Apple version with no full screen on.

No it's not, it's a car thing. Android auto is absolutely capable of using the full screen but only if the car supports it.

Absolutely correct. Here's AA running in fullscreen mode:

And in split-screen mode:
