This is always such an inane argument. The track more quickly reveals the shortcomings that will still be evident on the street. To me the IS-F isn't a track car either.

And obviously it's not for everyone, I would never buy this.

The exhaust is probably the most obvious example.

Super impressive package all around. Very happy Lexus kept the natural V8 along with it's throaty sound. I'd seriously consider this car in it's base form. It is a screaming value in the mid-$50k range.
So is the sunroof standard or not? Hearing conflicting reports.

Hey Jack and Mark looked like they were having plenty of fun on the track. Their smiles and laughter caused me to smile and laugh. That makes it track enough for me

It was mentioned above that it is not part of the Premium package, but as discussed above I would expect every IS500 that shows up on dealer lots to be fully-loaded. (This would also up the MSRP.)

Not going to get bogged down in semantic debates - note I was responding to the notion that it was not a track car. Certainly these should all be track-capable cars.

Yeah, the base price is commendable but these will be made in such small volume that the models sold will all be fully loaded at $62K as others have mentioned. Which admittedly is still far cheaper than the GS-F.

Still, this does seem quite underpriced and almost like a sort of goodbye gift from Toyota/Lexus for V8's before moving on to electrification.

That was definitely not the intent, or for a better word the purpose this car was built for. It's marketed as a compact luxury car with a V8. That said, the aftermarket will easily fix that. I have friend who turned his 2007 2nd Gen IS350 into a capable track car, he spent $8K on bushing, suspension, Sway bars, wheels and some other bolton-ons and tracks it regularly

And again I'll repeat: my point was never whether this is or was supposed to be a track car.

Oh boy:

2022 Lexus IS500 F Sport. On our test strip, this power coalesced into a 4.3-second 0-60-mph sprint, with the quarter mile claimed in 12.7-seconds

Agreed..!! I would say they guys were Spot On...

I wouldn't take this one out for an all day tack day 0% chance.

Especially at the reported 3,891 pounds..

But they put one on the scales for accuracy as well equipped. @ 3,957 pounds

They looked like they had fun to me. Mark says his LC500 is not track focused, and yet he tracks it, and bought it with no regrets
