Will Prado really become 2024 version of LC70? I dont see current clientele buying it then. For GX, it is way easier, since it never had the following Prado or LX had.
Fair point spwolf, I think Prado and GX will finally diverge going forward then. There have been plans to redesign LC70 for years, but formalizing those plans has rarely ever happened. Does Toyota have the wherewithal to develop a direct successor to LC70, while retaining existing versions anyway as a "classic"? Off topic I guess.

Toyota also filed trademark for Hybrid Max BTW everyone.

Between iForce Max filed for Tundra in February 2020 and Hybrid Max recently, there is a connection somewhere? Perhaps Hybrid Max is the Tacoma and 4Runner?

There is so much equipment used on a daily basis that the state would never keep up with it, ever. All oilfield equipment, both mobile & stationary, is diesel powered with no emissions equipment. Heck, even the giant generators used on military bases & hospitals are not plagued with that garbage, at least they weren’t a few years ago. Clean air is important, but so is being able to perform a particular job with minimal expense & downtime. I’ve been to other countries that have no standards & EVERYTHING is filthy; the air, the water, the land, all vile. There has to be a balance. I see Toyota as helping to be part of that balance some day, but it doesn’t sound like it will be so.
Some videos showing what intakes look on modern diesels. Getting rid of the emissions crap is a must.

Plain weird is right. They could have just left the background plain white or a neutral grey

When I see the new GMC Sierra on the road, I “think” 2022 Tundra.

Can't believe it has been almost 16 years since occurred and that they are finally getting to it all this time later, this evening. Three presidential administrations later.

Have to see the full press release and launch first. Likely will appeal to the Toyota faithful. Doubtful domestic buyers will notice

why do you think this will be an epic fail?

I agree this will sell to Toyota faithful, like the previous Tundra it won't sway domestic buyers.

Its a fail to the masses in my opinion, but to the brainwashed faithful, it will sell well. The Tundra will remain, solidly in 4th place & Nissan solidly in 5th place. We all know the old saying: “We cannot change, that which we do not acknowledge”. Perhaps Toyota is happy with that. If so, why have all of this stupid hoopla?!

I know Ford and GM rule the roost, but I sure see a HELLUVALOT of Tundras out and about, too. Always have.

Do they still even make any pick ups with 2 doors and 8 foot beds?

There is nothing wrong with that as long as their expectations are indeed that. From my viewpoint, I think they are targeting GMC with the new tundra. From my understanding, I believe there’s articles written that GMC has some of the highest transaction growth in the industry. So there definitely is money to be made, if you can get some of these buyers

To my knowledge, only Ram sells them.
