I tend to keep cars a lot longer, and I never have more than 4 at a time (excluding company car).

1991 Pontiac Trans Am moderately modded with Intake/exhaust and a 160 shot of nitrous...wrecked that after 3 yrs of owning it....then I was driving a 1990 Toyota Camry after that for about a yr or so...then I got my first Gen GS3 about a yr ago.

I noticed that no one has really answered this part of the thread. A couple things brought me to the point of lusting after a GS, when I was 16, my uncle bought a brand new black on black 95 SC400. That was the first year to change the tailights, front bumper, and other misc stuff. I could not BELIEVE that car, the muffler sound, power, and appearance not to mention the luxury knocked me off my rocker. That car was the first/most interaction with a Lexus I'd ever had.

After my 1995 Accord Ex, I went from wanting a Volkswagen Passat, to 3series beamer, then to a Lexus coupe (this was in 2001) I saw a couple SCs private party, and on used car lots, but nothing up to my standards.

I stopped by Lexus of Massepequa and happend onto a 96 GS. I told the guy, I'm not looking for that, i want a LS or SC. He told me, your pocket can afford THAT, so go test drive it, its certified, has 59k and is clean as a button. Well i drove it and bought it a week later!! Put 20s on a week after that!! (ghetto dubs, but I only paid 1800 back in 2001!!)

well.. It is VERY hard to drive in the rain (wants to spin out at ever light). It draws attention.. everyone looks.. Its a hard car to use as a daily driver because the seats are a bit firm and the clutch is hard to engage.. I wouldn't buy one again, but I am glad I had one.
