First car was the 1989 HOnda accord. It is still mint and running smooth!! hehehe
It's the family car now.
I've liked the 1st gen gs ever since I was in 7th grade. When the time came to buy a car, I really wanted it and also the fact that I rarely see the car on the road.

Actually my wife loved the SC400 ever since she saw her first one. She convinced me to take a look. Last year, when we could finally afford to get a nicer car, we found a used 92 SC400. Love at first drive. After that one had an encounter with a big truck and lost, we looked around alot. Ther G35 coupe and 98+ GS300 (thinking turbo) were out of our price range. So was the IS. I refuse to ever make payments on a car again. My goal is to get out of debt. Not bury myself deeper. Every other car I looked at paled in comparison to the Lexus and specifically the SC. I looked for 6 weeks and found a very clean 95 SC400. Snatched it up right away. I'd like to get a GS to have something bigger.

My thoughts on why I chose Lexus
The '96 Coach Edition ES was actually handed down by my parents. We got it in mint condition back in '96, and from what I remember, the out-the-door price was $36,500! Man, for that kind of money, you could get a nice, used GS It is kinda surreal to think about how extraordinary the price seemed compared to today's luxury car market, but back then, the ES 300 was regarded as one of the top-selling entry-level luxury vehicles, competing against the BMW 3-series and the Acura TL. In any case, I was sold by what the '96 had to offer... all the nice trimmings on the interior and exterior, the extremely quiet V6 engine, the acceleration, etc. I knew right then and there that this is what I want for a reliable car (and all of my future cars)
I traded in my '96 ES for a '01 ES in April 2003. I had so many fond memories with that car, and got great feedback from my friends, family, and other people I know. You can read more about my '96 and '01 ES and see some pictures by clicking on the "Entry-level luxury" link in my sig

Re: Re: What brought you to your Lexus?
1970 Chevy Nova
1978 Chevy Cheyenne P/U
1977 Chevy El Camino SS
1980 Datsun B210
1984 Chevy conversion van
1985 Honda Prelude
1989 Buick Le Sabre (company car)
1990 Honda Prelude 2.0 SI 5 spd
1991 Chevy Beretta (came with wife)
1992 Chevy 1/2 ton P/U reg cab long bed
1995 Lexus SC 400
2000 Chevy Silverado Ext cab (company truck)
As you can see by the list, the SC is my 1st Lexus, also my 1st Toyota product. In my high school days, I was a Chevy guy. Small block chevy motors are cheap and easy to get good power out of. Then, I discoved the Honda Prelude. Not much power, but it handled like a go cart and gave me 35 mpg, very unlike a Nova or El Camino. I very much enjoyed my Hondas, but it was time to get back to the wonderful world of rear wheel drive. I had lusted after the 300ZX TT since 1990, and wanted one bad as my next car, but the wife wanted something more roomy and luxurious. So, the SC was my compromise between pure sport and luxury cruiser. I feel I have sacrificed nothing by getting an SC. I had always liked the SC, and I even remember the first time I saw one. I remember thinking hoe sexy it was, and about how it would be a long time before I could afford a 50K car. Patience pays off. Now I'm thinking about getting an older LS for the long road trips. A nice silver LS will look good beside my Black SC!
